You are definitely traveling in style with that pen and journal, not to mention the locale. Sweet!

Where I live the accepted routine is to pack as much fun and outside activity as possible into the short summer season because winter is always just around the corner, so that is what we do. I have, however, been using pens - here are some quick shots of some of the pens that have been on my desk the past month, most of these have been reviewed in more detail on earlier pages of this thread:

I'm CERTAIN my ink purchases are directly proportional to the amount of posts you upload . . . :(

Hope you have a wonderfully long summer.

Thanks David. I'll tale that as a compliment coming from you. You really keep this thread alive with your wonderful posts.

I restrained myself when I visited Casa della Stilografica and only bought the first fountainpen for my youngest son (a Kaweco sport) and some ink for myself. A bottle of Sailor Blue Black and a PR DC Supershow Blue.

A great summer in Florence and Tuscany so far.

Those stub nibs on your Swans - are they factory stubs?! They look marvelous!

Lovely pairing of pen and ink.

Thank you, I always hesitate posting too many photos as I don't want to squelch others from showing their pens. It makes me happy to see everyone else's stubs.

Haha, I'm glad to be of help. :D

A Kaweco is a great pen to start with - my two older sons started with that pen and now they each have a pile of their own pens from cheap pocket pens to nice ones. Sounds like you are in a wonderful spot to enjoy the summer!

Hullo,

Well, er, that's how they came!

I have read that stubs were particularly popular since they allowed for a good bold signature.

... or you could not pick pens to sell and still purchase another stub. Just a thought. :D

David, this post was just amazing! So much eyecandy, it even raised my glucose level

Here is my little stub:

Nice! How wide are the downstrokes on your italic/stub ogiva?

Current Wishlist:

Visconti, Visconti, and...more Visconti! (And some ST Duponts too). (Ok fine, getting on the Omas and Montblanc trains now too. Toot toot.) (And maybe on the Montegrappa one too, but only for the Miyas.)

Here's a hasty iPad shot of a happy summer pen. The celluloid on this Miya is gorgeous and the interior of the pen does not show through at all. On the lovely Aurora Ionio the Callifolio Pacifique ink can be seen through the orange body. Perhaps I should get a little vest for that pen-- when it goes out in public.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
