got the Pelikan Edelstein Tanzanite in a drawing at the 2019 Pelikan Hub.

Whenever I open my container of this ink, I always expect it to be golden rather than blue.  Intellectually, I know that tanzanite is a blue gem stone, but for some reason I always picture canary yellow.

Nice ink, though, no matter what it's called!

Oops, it's a 1.5 not a 1.9.

Not really a stub at all, but I'm guessing this might be of interest to some of those enjoying broad nibs, especially for Calligraphy.

Recently, there have been a number of youtube postings of an Opus 88 hack, transplanting a Pilot Parallel nib into a Opus 88 Demonstrator. I'm here to tell you it works wonderfully well.

Happy writing!

@tringle I guess we were posting at near the same time, I didn't see that you posted so I'm responding now.

@dms525 Hope to see your writing with that pen set up.

Amber -  That’s hysterical.  BTW sending you a package.   I also did not realize how bad the photo was of the nib.  I will repost, a better one soon.

I look forward to it!  I'm applying our writing approach to other letters. I don't wait to write and send the letter. When it arrives, I send back at least a page.

That's funny. The two images are the same ink and paper. One is a photo and the other is a scan. The ink is Birmiingham - I think it is Angel Fish but it could be Ultramarine.

Here is the new nib photo.  Much better than my first.

New pen day! Fitted with a #8 Bock nib ground to CI by Pablo Carrasco. It's a sweet writer!

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
