I have received a Sailor KOP Mosaic Green. The nib is B.

 

The package:

A typical KOP package. Great one at that. With a complimentary bottled Sailor black ink to boot.

 

The nib:

This is B. And from Sailor. Enough said. Super smooth. The line is not that fat. More like a medium from Pelikan or MB. With this nib, I can use it daily for note taking and journaling.

 

The size:

As a KOP, this is a full size pen. It fits in my right hand comfortably. I like the mid to large sized pen as it is difficult to keep a good hold on a small pen in my hand.

 

The filling system:

The sailor converter. Even though a converter is frowned upon, I find a converter in a KOP model has a sufficient ink capacity. I have piston, plunger and converter pens in my collection. I like them all.

 

The design:

Here, this KOP shines. There is a celluloid look to it. The following pictures worth a thousand words.

I love the combination of this green and silver.

Beautiful !

 

I have the brown mosaic in the 1911M - a smallish pen but what I like about it best are the specks and fleckles of the body. It's quite a sight if you look closely.

 

Congrats. This one is a largish pen.

A people can be great withouth a great pen but a people who love great pens is surely a great people too...

I am not sure what is reflecting off the nib in the picture above. The nib does not have any tint as this is a rhodium plated gold nib.

What a beautiful pen. I love the look of the cap, without any rings.

The recent Fountain Pens Of Japan book shows all the four acrylic colours of the Profit King Mozaique.

Your photos really show off the lustrous nature of this acrylic material.

I have two of the smaller 1911 Profit Junior Mozaiques in Red & in Brown.

They are the only "fancy" pens I own.

and the mozaic on the 1911 looks as good?or is it less quality?it's because i love the appareance of the mozaic here but they cost a lot for my student budget and so i was asking myself if it wouldn't be bether to take the 1911 as it is a lot less money to give

Although both the 1911 & the KOP Mozaiques are similar in shape (balanced design), they are different in size & construction.

The smaller pen's barrel, like the Standard sized 1911 (& 1911-M), is built up from components. It appears the barrel of KOP Mozaique is one-piece, machined from a solid bar of acrylic resin, with the threads being gear cut.

On the 1911 Mozaiques, the threaded part next to the section is a black, cast resin add-on, separated by a decorative metal ring.

The KOP sports no cap-ring, while the 1911 has one thick ring on the rim of its cap (like Sailor demonstrators & some Sailor special edition pens).

 

I'd think that the KOP Mozaiques may be made with more precision, from specially selected acrylic bar stock. Their design is deceptively simple, yet beautiful.

You pay a premium for that.

 

If I could handle a pen of this imposing size (& price), I'd go for the Green one.

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
