Recommended Posts

Hello all.

I have finally found a spare hour or so to join up to FPN and make a couple of posts. I restore and sell vintage and modern fountain pens and pencils and stuff. I have been going for about 4 years, and about 18 months ago packed in my day job to do it full time. So far so good.

Welcome Andy! I bought a lovely Parker "51" from you some years ago when I lived in Cornwall - now I am in Australia, and married again to my first husband! I still have and treasure that pen! It was the start of a very intense obsession! Hugs, Chris :)9

Oh, lovely to see you here!

The Burnham Pen I bought from you at the end of last year is my favourite pen.

It writes like a dream :)

All the best,

Welcome Andy!

I've been keeping an eye on your website since I first got into this, waiting for my ideal pen to appear. . .

What's taken you so long to sign up? you don't know what you've been missing!

Sam's Pilot arrived quickly and safely, and works just fine. Your site is one of my favourite places to drool - a great selection of vintage stuff, and usually cheaper than most other places too.

Glad you enjoy using the pen - Burnhams are usually pretty good writers. The nibs are small, but well made.

I'm usually kept flat out restoring pens, photographing pens, listing pens, and posting pens. I rarely get time to actually use pens, and still less time to read about them. I do hope to keep up a bit with the forum posts now that I am a member though.

I like the Pilot Saturns too. Inexpensive, stylish, and good writers. I've enjoyed the occasional trawl around your website too. Problem is, there is too much information on it and once I start looking I suddenly find I've been browsing for a couple of hours!

Welcome,

You have one of the few pen sites that I bookmark, though I haven't purchased anything from you. It is a good site, set up with care. A pleasure to look at the vintage pens for sale...and as someone else said, rather inexpensive too.

Hi Andy, welcome to the FPN. Do you like to restore Sheaffer Snorkels? :D

Hi Andy, nice to see you've joined the forum. I'm another of those who enjoys browsing what you have available on your site and I was busy telling everyone on here about your Try Before You Buy scheme when I got my VP.

Well, I don't mind restoring Snorkels - they take a little time and care to do properly, but the results are certainly worth it. The Triumph nib models especially have lovely smooth nibs, and once properly restored, the filling mechanism will last for years and years before needing any further attention.

I only have a few pens available for the Try before you buy scheme, but it has proved quite popular with customers.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
