Pelikan M1000 Sunlight Raden

The Sunlight Raden is absolutely stunning

I have always had a fondness and weakness for anything raden.

I missed the Moonlight altogether and never got a chance to see it in the metal.

I have the Namiki Nightline and I thought it was fabulous.

But this Sunlight is different and better.

Let the pictures speak for themselves.

Fantastic pen. Beautiful raden. Even more colourful than the Moonlight. Ordered one myself but I’ll have to wait until Februari next year. Do you also have pictures of this pen with daylight?

I saw these nice pictures on Ebay some days ago, but what I meant was real daylight. So (indirect) sunlight on Sunlight :D . But thanks anyway. Enjoy this beautiful pen.

I have never seen anything like that - I would be afraid to touch it!

Fool me once, shame on you.

Fool me twice; damn

In Germany, Pelikan seems to have kept the release of the "Sunlight" really quiet, it's not even on their official web site yet though dealers knew of it to be released in February (only Asia got them in December), so I had almost given up on the idea we'd really see it in February. However my dealer informed me yesterday that my pre-ordered sunlight was now shipped to him and I'll probably hold it within the week. Yay! Will post some pictures soon.

I agree completely. This pen has become my 'grail' pen. Problem is that I'll have to create some room (read $) in my collection.

I LOVE Raden. Sadly, given its cost I doubt I'll ever own one. But I love the pictures!

Have you checked out the Namiki Capless Raden models? Raden finishes at lower prices than the usual Namiki maki-e pens.

Yeah, not a fan of capless pens, and I'm not at all sure the clip wouldn't get int he way of my grip. Since I don't have anywhere to try pens out before I buy them I tend to avoid weird grips like. I don't even own any Lamy's for the same reason, not willing to gamble with an odd grip area.

I've finally gotten around to taking some pictures recently and I'd like to share them. Sorry for the inky nib.

At the moment it's a daily writer. When I took the picture it was inked with Private Reserve Electric DC Blue, right now I'm using Iroshizuku Ajisai. Current nib is an O3B made crisper by John Sorowka. Great writer and makes good use of the M1000's huge ink reservoir.

Well, they did make this set in the M800 size a few years ago... ;) A few people around here even own some if I'm not mistaken. They are hard to come by now though.

Ver good looking pen. When I try to order for me, the local dealer and distributor said not available at feb. Too bad.
