How Can I Fix That Clip ?

Thier.

Recommended Posts

I recently bought that touchdown (no idea of the model)

It will be working fine as soon I've placed a new sac but there is a problem I don't know how to resolve : The clip seems not to be well fixed : it moves and I'd like to have it fixed... But how can I do that without danger for the cap?

Thanks for your help .

Thank you for the identification. I've got the same one in green (with the same clip problem) and in black (with the clip perfectly fitted). I just to hope that someone knows how to resolve that little problem (as the pens are working perfectly, it's not such a big problem ...)

Thank you. When I see the amount of tools I would need, I think that it's better to let it be a little bit loose .... Moreover, having the tools is one thing, the know-how about the use of those tools is probably more important ....

Since you are in Belgium (or it would seem so, seeing the flag in your post), you may want to contact Francis Gooseens (fountainbel), one of Sheaffer's gurus, who lives in Sinaai.

The problem with ideas is that good ideas and bad ideas look about the same until you put them into practice.

I believe the Imperial III clips are spring-loaded. My Imperial IV clip is. If so, the inner springs on your two pens are probably broken. You can replace the springs if you can get the inner cap out.

You may be able to pull the inner cap by using an expanding plastic wall anchor. This guy did:

Removing a Sheaffer Inner Cap

Note that the Imperial's inner cap may be full-length, like the PFM. Be sure to warm the cap first if you try to work on it.

ADD: I have used this method successfully to pull nib-unit collars from the gripping sections of Sheaffer Vac-Fils.

Thank you for your help !!!!!! As the famous Sheaffer's guru live 45 minutes far from here and accepted to receive me (and my 7 or 8 Sheaffers with little problems) I think I'll go there. Moreover, he told me that he would be pleased if I stayed near him while working on those fabulous but problematics writing jewels. Shall I dare going there with my camera ? ....

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
