Pilot Frixion Ball - Erasable Gel Pen

Recommended Posts

I happened upon the Pilot Frixion Ball - Erasable Gel Pen in a hunt for a pen to use in quilting and embroidery. I don't know much about them but for my purposes they're rather miraculous. Below are pictures of an embroidery for my niece's up-and-coming wedding. I can write on the fabric, embroider, then erase any trace of the pen marks by ironing my fabric. I can make additions & changes to my hearts content. Amazing. Does anyone use these pens? On paper? Fabric?

Hi,

They are pretty cool. The only downside is that if you put it in the freezer, the ink shows up again. They are more permanent than the Pilot G2 pens are. They are waterproof as well. I really like mine. I got it from Japan. Do you have quilter's chalk? We use that in my house. It washes out quite easily.

I like to use my Frixion for secret messages. I write it, heat it up, then tell my friend to freeze them to find out our secret.

Yes, that's right. I have done that thing many times. In the past, I'd use the pen as my scratch pen then use a hair dryer to make all the ink disappear then reuse the paper. At the end, after I reused the paper quite a few times, I would stick the paper in the freezer to make all the lines show back up. It was a fun experiment.

I know someone who wanted a easily obtainable invisible ink pen. Thanks!

Does the highlighter do the same thing?
