They seems to have plenty of them.

I already picked up 2 from a seller here otherwise I would be tempted.

* I have no relation to the seller and haven't purchased an item from them. Just curious if the bottles he's selling are legitimate.

The scan of the written page appears to be taken from this review:

https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php?/topic/127251-montblanc-mahatma-gandhi-saffron-ink-review

The reviewer appears to be located in San Antonio; the eBay listing appears to ship from Houston. Perhaps contact the reviewer, kushbaby, and see if these are his bottles. I would tread carefully even if the eBay seller just used his photo/scan of the written page.

Did you purchase them all or something? The listing is now gone.

He must have quite a few as I have three on the way myself...I admit I do hope they are the real thing as I do love the color, characteristics of the real stuff!

He sold out 5 for $35-$40 when I first posted this thread. I'm sure he sold 5 before that because he had feedback on selling some before. He sold another 5 for $35+$15 shipped and he now has ANOTHER BIN for $35+$14 that started today.

I'm curious as to what's going on here. I'm still thinking they are genuine since he has sold a bunch of MB LE pens w/ box and papers but how is he getting so much MB stuff?

I already recognize 1 of the names on the sold list as a member from here.

My Alfred Hitchcock ink from him arrives soon so we shall see.

Store: Dromgoole's

Wonder how they got so much?

Anyway...this will bring my "stash" to a comfortable "Lifetime" level! :)

I went home and counted my stash - 5 "extras" and one already on the go with only three fills out of it. I think I'll end up passing on these new ones. I love MB Gandhi, and I love that people are getting a chance to buy some, but I think I like Kin-Mokusei ever so slightly better. So 6 bottles of the MB will have to suffice.

But thanks so much for bringing the listing to FPNers' attention, OP!

Ah. Well, you can trust Dromgoole's. Quality people. Not to say they won't take advantage of the odd price hike when they see demand. But they won't sell you fake stuff, either. My go-to brick & mortar place when I can make it out of the house and into town.

They get stuff in from collectors (hoarders) and they also sometimes get in a bit much of their own stock thinking they'll sell more than they do. I never looked for that color so I never noticed if they had it. Y'all enjoy! I'm always amazed at how much ink they keep in stock given how small and cramped the store is.

My tipoff was I got a UPS delivery notice (arriving tomorrow), coming from Dromgoole's. I'm like....Dromgoole's? I know I order a lot of ink, but couldn't remember for the life of me what I ordered from Dromgoole's until I went through all my accounts, PP, etc.

I never gave permission for anyone to use my photos. Also not selling any Gandhi ink (though I have quite a few bottles and had considered it). I can't get to the listing to see if my writing sample is still up. Is it in another listing? I'd like to tell them to take the photo down if so...

edit: Never mind - found it. I am going to contact them now.

I just sent the following to the seller:

"I am the owner of the copyright for the photograph that you are using as the writing sample for this ink. You did not ask permission to use it on this listing. Please remove this photo from all of your listings. I would also recommend that you check with the owners of the photos that you snag from Fountain Pen Network in the future, as most take exception to using photos without permission.

Please remove this by Friday at 5PM, CST

Thanks in advance for your cooperation."

Kush, I can understand the negative feelings of an ink review you posted (although the EBay listing version is not the one you had in your 2009 review now) being used to sell a product on Ebay, and support your requesting its removal. However, I do not believe you can claim copyright after the fact for a publicly shared photo--especially without having added a notation onto the photo or with the post. For me it is not in the same category of a violation as someone grabbing a copyright photo that has intrinsic value to the artist advertising its sale. I'm not disputing the common courtesy that should have been provided to you in any case.

It is one of my photos - may be in another thread (I posted several on Gandhi ink). I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure that you have to ask permission to use a photo. Public posting or sharing does not constitute giving up your copyright. Trust me - I teach in medical school, and I have rules I have to use to request permission to use a photo, even if it is posted "publicly" on the internet for all to see (and that's with fair use, whereas this person is using my photo to make money).

I probably wouldn't be so determined to ask that it be removed if it didn't have my user name right there on the paper ("Ink review by kushbaby"). That being said, I'm less irritated that they are using it - more irritated that they didn't ask for permission.

(edit for typo)
