I recently completed my Lamy Joy collection with the bottommost pen in the picture, one of the first Joys to come to market. Its endcap features a black dot. Does this look right, collectors? Any other Joy variants?[url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/lamy2000/8047882044/]

Hi bphollin,

Here it is... I picked up the last two (couldn't resist, even though I don't collect them). PM me your postal details if you don't already have this one.

Regards,

Chris

And whilst I'm on the subject of Eslite bookstore (Taiwan) special issue Safari fountain pens (usually limited to 200 and F nibs), here are the launch posters for the ones that I've been aware of:

1) Shiny black with red clip (celebrating 30 years of the Lamy Safari)

2/3/4) Triplet release of shiny red with red clip, shiny yellow with red clip, matte charcoal with red clip, all of which came with red dot caps (ie. just like the NK special issues of the same year)

5) White with red clip, stamped with "I ♥ 100 Taiwan", celebrating the 100th year of the Taiwanese calendar.

Regards,

Chris

Beautiful Safaris!

Very impressed as usual.

Uffuffa and other Safari collectors, users make sure to check this thread at least monthly.

Is it fair for an intelligent and family oriented mammal to be separated from his/her family and spend his/her life starved in a concrete jail?

i got the "Terra Rot" FP, BP and Pcl, but missing the Rollerball :D

were those two colors also available as twinpens?

Hello KMPN,

Just wondering if you ever found out whether the twin pens were released in terra rot / terracotta and savanna colours? Like you, I'm missing one of the terra rot series (I don't have the ball point). I also don't have any of the second generation terra rot, only the first generation. Overall, they seem much scarcer than the savannas in either generation.

Regards,

Chris

My sister has that Core!! Anyway, the Hero pen is so shameless. I saw it, then thought, "A purple Safari, now I really have to get one!" Then I saw that it said Hero on it.

WOW. I thought I had a decent 4 pen collection. This blows it out of the water! Nicely done. I have the Neon green Fountain, Polished Aluminum Fountain, Gunmetal Aluminum fountain, Gunmetal Aluminum rollerball.

Apparently, there is a hot pink one? A teacher in my school has one, but I have yet to see it with my own eyes.

"But why do you always speak in riddles?"
"I solve them all."

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
