Can someone explain the difference between

 

Copy Paper

Multipurpose Paper

Laser Paper

Inkjet Paper

 

Which is best for fountain pen use?

The main difference is price.

 

I've found that laser printers and fountain pens are both pretty happy with the cheap stuff. You only really need pricier paper if you're using an inkjet that's a bit of a drama queen.

As I understand it, laser paper will have a smoother finish. I'm not sure about the differences between the other 3.

You may find that with many of the cheaper copy papers, wet inks in medium or broad nibs may cause FP ink to bleed and show through.

 

A good benchmark copy paper is Xerox Premium 90gsm.
