I get so inspired in this forum by everyone. But, somehow, I make to lose motivation rather quickly. What is the secret?

I get so inspired in this forum by everyone. But, somehow, I make to lose motivation rather quickly. What is the secret?

 

Sit up straight, hold the pen very (very!) gently, don't lean on your arm, move the hand and the arm, not the fingers, and most importantly: keep on writing!

 

Find a project that will keep you going. Follow a book, copy some text, get a pen-pal, write a paragraph for your next (!) Great Novel in beautiful script, ... what ever motivates you.

 

My rules are: one drawing a day, no matter how bad, small, and simple. (Drawing a simple three-dimensional cube counts! I have a lot of those :-O ) And copy one of the texts from the (Christian) prayers of the day. You find your own rules to keep you motivated. Peer pressure is good, so get some pen pals or start a thread here showing off your best calligraphy of the week, every week.

Any pen you use it's turned into a tool that becomes an extension of the master. Weather it be a dime store find, or a masterful work of art. I am in compete awe of your skills.

What size nib did you use on the first picture? My current fp, which I only have 2, seems to write to bold. Bleeds too much I guess. I am looking for something that writes smaller. But, with limited funds, I can't spend on pens that in going to try out. Even the cheap, Chinese eBay pens are over my budget some weeks.
