Attika89,

Amazing penmanship!!

:notworthy1:

You are too nice! Thank you

I really love yours as well!

Attika, that sheen looks wonderful and your up close letter and word are lovely!

Thank you! Those were the ones I'd call acceptable

I love the yama dori's sheen

I adore your penmanship!

Welcome to the dip pen club :) ! Lovely handwriting - I can see you are enjoying it. The Gillott 303 is a little scratchy and picky about paper, just needs a little getting used to.

Love the sheen of the Yama-dori - I don't have any particularly sheeny ink so I have to cheat with gold bits -

Thank you very much! I do enjoy it, but I won't have much time until August to do so. :(

The gold sheen is just amazing! Just like your penmanship :)

Wow! Troy, that Aristocrat is true to it's name for sure!

Very nice pen! Congrats!

Parker is such a lovely puppy!

You are such a show-off....

Just kidding :D

Beautiful grind! I'd love to own such nib.

I'll trade you -- your penmanship for my useless tiny ant writing?

Add some of your water brush technique and we have a deal :D

Seriously, it must be a wonderful nib for sketching!

Yeah it's great for sketching, but I didn't imagine how nice it would be for just basic writing. My fast cursive can get sloppy and forms loose their individual design. The thinner line keeps counter forms intact and more readable for me. For example a lower case "e" more often looks like an "e" rather than melting into an "i".

Does your Waterman 52 1/2 rebound (from flex to thinnest line) quickly? I have got an Eversharp flex nib, it doesn't really come back quick enough for me, makes forming clean lower turns quite difficult.

Hi Disillusion, your question inspired to get my Eversharp nib out again to give it another try. If I understand correctly, these are vintage nibs that have been set in modern pens.

I really like the green finish on this one but I'm not so happy with the nib. It's ok but not as good as either of the Watermans I own.

… and do you actually sprinkle gold powder on your ink while wet?? Or am I being silly here?

Sinistral, that's beautiful. How is a 56 different from a 52 please? The barrel of yours looks just like mine. Is the nib different?

Attika, what type of pen is that? It looks pretty wild. I wonder why some one doesn't make a modern prototype of that pen

Looks like the sign of a great hand: even if the pen is not as flexible, you still manage to do an excellent job of making dramatic lettering on the paper. Well done!

And I really love that ink! I saw a bottle for sale today, and didn't not realize that it was such a great deep red. Wonderful!

Delightful script! And such a nice subtle dark ink color. I'll have to look for some...

I am not very experienced, but it seems that the Waterman vintage pens are some of the most penman friendly of all historic pens! I have three, and all are easy to work, and give great results. Thanks for this image!

Callique: A 56 has a #6 nib and a 52 has a #2 nib. The body of the 56 is much bigger around and a #6 nib easily twice as wide as a #2 nib.

Edited to add: The Waterman heart hole nibs are the gold standard in flexible nibs. There's nothing better, in my opinion.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
