Some of you may be know that I have a soft spot for black vintage Pelikan. Some time ago, I postetd a picture of my all black Pelikan here:LINK

But the collection has grown. So here's the update:

And yes, I also do like green Pelikan as can be seen here: LINK

Hopefully the collection will also grow in future, there are still many pens missing...

...will let you know then.

FOR ME this beatiful collection says:

vintage Pelikans are better looking then the modern ones, they are more simple, distinguished, understaded and have more class.

It was not by adding golden rings on the piston nob that Pelikans became more precious or important. I also like the rounded piston nob more.

I have an M600 completely black but it cannot stand up against the beauty of these pens shown here. (I must admit though that it writes incredibly well!)

I'm looking forward for Pelikan to make a new design taking a few steps back, not by making a replica (as the M101N, wich I love and have)

but by getting inspired by their own history ...

I repeat, this is just my own personal opinion!

christof, your pictures are incredible as is your collection... May I ask... dare I ask... could we get a picture of your FULL Pelikan collection, sorted by model? I'm just really intrigued by this pen manufacturer. And I agree with koen that the vintage pens are a lot more alluring than the modern ones (except for the white tortise... I want one of those.... one day). I've never quite felt the draw to buy a modern M400, but the vintage ones keep calling out to me.... :cloud9:

Beautiful collection of black Pelikans Christof and 1000km. I need to find a black 400N. My favorite is the first year Pelikan in black.

A black first year Pelikan is truly a great pen. I would love to have one. Unfortunately I do not...

The second pen from left wich looks similar to one, is a black wartime pen with an unusual cap without any cap rings.

PS: It would be great to see a pic of yours Greg.

BEautiful collection, now the tough question, which is your favorite ?

My favourite pen changes from day to day so this is a quite hard decision for me. Also I don't see them as single pens but as a collection. If I had to decide for only one pen it probably would be a Pelikan 100.

Mostly I am writing with Parkers :) .

But hey, today I have the black 300 with an ultra smooth DF (double vent holes) nib with me. Writes like a good Parker "51", haha...

outstanding collection

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
