Waterman 'perspective'

Hello guys,

I'm going to buy a pen. I was thinking of Waterman 'Perspective', 'Charlston' or Parker 'Sonet'. I like the thinly way that Perspective writes. I also heard many good things about the Sonet. What do you think? Which should I take? Did you write any of them?

Hello. I don't have any of the pens you are looking at, but there is an index of reviews and I think all those pens are available. Good luck with your purchase and welcome to the FPN.

As Scribblesoften mentioned there is a whole bunch of reviews available on the forum, you can use the search button in the upper-left corner of your screen.

I only have the Perspective from the pens you mentioned and I personally am very happy with it. When I first saw it, I knew (based more on the looks than on the writing though) that this was the pen I was willing to overspend my budget for when I went to buy my first real fountain pen. It has a for Western standards) nice F and writes very smooth, even a bit too smooth for my taste (I don't mind a bit of feedback, improves my handwriting). It's quite heavy and when capped the balance is very much in the back of the pen.

I don't know about the prices where you're from and the about money you're willing to spend, but in the Netherlands there is a price difference between the Sonnet (€100), Perspective (€125) and Charleston (€150). I haven't written with the other two, but from what I know about them and keeping mind the different prices I'd say the Perspective is your best choice.
