Hey all,I was wondering if there's a full metal bodied pen out there. Not talking about something extremely fancy (like a solid gold pen) but just one with a metal body

I picked up a Sheaffer Intensity with Medici finish recently. It is all metal, section, and all. Only problem is I've had trouble getting the converter to stay put. But, at less than a $100 it's an option if you don't want to spend too much.

Many Sheaffer Javelins. One version of the Waterman Hemisphere. Most models of the X-Pen brand. Sheaffers with a 404 or 444 in their model designation. There's an all-steel variant of the Hero 100 that's pretty nice and extremely reasonably priced. All these have plastic sections.

If you're looking for something that's totally metal, the all-steel Parker Vector is your closest approach without laying out some real money. I know there's a Hero model with an integrated point, but I can't think of the number and it doesn't appear too commonly. The next closest to affordable is the Parker 50, but those tend towards pricey, and then it's on to Murexes (Murices?), M90s and beyond.

It's mainly pens, just now....

Oh, good heavens. He's got a blog now, too.

Parker flighter models are all metal except the section.

I had one that had a metal section too. I bought a set of pen and ballpoint with a book "The History of Writing" at Heathrow airport in 1979. I do not know what model it was. It was stolen by a Chinese diplomat in 1992. I still have the ballpoint.

Waht about the Rotring 600. That is all steel. They are as tough as nails and a potentially dangerous weapon.

I think the Pilot Plaisir is all-metal, but the section might be plastic. At least some Sheaffer Preludes are also metal with a plastic section.

Yes, try the Schrade Tactical (http://scribbledemonboddo.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/schrade-tactical-2012.html) or the Montevered Invincia (I'll review that soon).

Hi Scribble,

it seems you resurrecting some old theads these days :-)

Like the shading effect on the pen.

Also the Mont Blanc Noblesse 1122 comes as full metal jacket pen:

Hi,

A few more:

  • Cross ATX - metal section
  • Sailor Somiko
  • Sheaffer 444 & Targa
  • Parker Sonnet, 88, 25 & 75. (Is the 180 all-metal?)
  • Pelikan P99 Technixx - metal section
  • Waterman Carene & Expert

Ah, believe the rotie 600 to be aluminium, not steel. (?)

Bye,

S1

Lamy Logo is a very nice, full-metal pen, including the grip section. It's small, so it may not work for everybody, but I really like mine.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
