Removing Clip From Parker 25

I have a Parker 25 and I am trying to replace the clip on the cap with a new one. How do I go about taking the old clip out of the cap and placing the new one in?

The photo below is just for reference. My actual clip looks much worse than that.

That's easy, but take care not to damage the tassie which is made of quite soft plastic.

Easiest way is to put the cap upright, the opening down on a table or other working space.

Then you push down the tassie, with the eraser end of a pencil or something like that. Some force may be needed, even sometimes a (soft!) hammer blow.

You'll have to lower the tassie about a centimeter, to just below the level where the clip comes out of the cap.

Once it is there, you can lift the clip upward and pull it out.

Replacing the new one is working just the other way. If you happen to remove the tassie and inner cap completely, you'll notice a flat square - that is where the clip fits. It fits in only one way so you'll have to line up that square with the clip. To push back the inner cap, use the pen itself. Sometimes a small stick is necessary to push the last millimeter.

The fibre tip/rollerball, fountain pen and biro (pic from L2R) have different inner caps but each has the flat square where the clip fits. Left, the position in which the clip can be removed / replaced.

Apologies for the cellphone picture!
