Steve, is that #6 nib? I had tried to fix a local #6 nib into my 69EB, that got broken during closing the cap, that's why I am asking.

It was the Islander review I read very early this morning. I also checked out the ASA Genius ebonite, and that stopped me from purchasing the Rainbow. I sent an email to Mr. Subramaniam regarding a JOWO section with converter, and a 1.1 stub for the ASA Genius. I am waiting to hear what that additional cost will be. I found I love the look of the shiny black ebonite pen, though I already have two ebonites (Noodler's & Treveni, Jr). My hands are small (being only 5 ft. tall), so pens too long are a bit much. The girth of the Jinhao X750 & X450 section have proven to be very comfortable for me, allowing me to write for a protracted period of time. I will go back and look at the Azaadi.

I love ebonite pens because they are so light and comfortable, With ebonite, you can use even a long pen without getting fatigued. So I completely understand your love for ebonite models. Infact, I am in the process of ordering an ebonite pen for myself today.

The Azaadi is 140mm long which is the same size as a Jinhao X450, Lamy Safari and Sailor 1911 full size. However, it will be much much lighter than the Jinhao and closer to Sailor weight.

Regards,

Prithwijit

The Genius 3-1 (which is nicknamed the Wizard) seems a very interesting model. Congratulations o getting such a wonderful pen. Do please share your feedback once you receive it.

Steve, is that #6 nib? I had tried to fix a local #6 nib into my 69EB, that got broken during closing the cap, that's why I am asking.

Yes, it is a #6 nib. I was able to fit it fairly easily but had to heat set the feed to ensure a perfect fit. Make sure it is set deep enough so that it fits inside the cap. Jowo nibs should work but they're almost 15 times more expensive! Ambitious nibs, I think, are wider. So they might not fit.

Thanks Steve, I ultimately made it with a #6 (made in Taiwan) nib..it looks good now.

I have fitted Ambitious #6 chrome finish nib successfully to Airmail 69EB. I had to set it deep so that cap can be screwed in and out without touching the nib.

Today I am playing with my new toy - F.P.R. Treveni Jr. Acrylic - Giraffe. It has a #5.5 1.0 stub, which writes like a real broad nib. Inked with Chesterfield Antique Orchid. Surprisingly, the nib is smoother than I would have thought. Currently writing with a Black 'n Red Notebook.

Yeah, I love my Trivenis, and I'm very fond of the 1.0mm stub nibs - though as you say, they're almost more a luscious B nib than a stub nib, given their generous flow!

And just for fun, here's the Triveni I have inked up at the moment - my full-sized Ruby Teal (with 1.0mm stub, and Diamine Magical Forest):

Shame my camera can't capture the acrylic's 'chatoyance' - it really is prettier in person!

Is that a Treveni Jr. I don't recognize that color of acrylic. It sure is beautiful, and purple is absolutely my favorite color!!

No, it's a full-sized Triveni. The acrylic colours available change from time to time, according to availability. I agree, though - I was really pleased to lay hands on this one, before they ran out of stock!

Thank you for noticing it. I have corrected it. :)

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
