I only have one Picasso and it has never been reliable, as it dries up very quickly and is a hard starter. I have tried it with inks that give no trouble in other pens, but still it's not very satisfactory.

I wouldn't dismiss all Picasso pens though, maybe I've just been unlucky with mine. :(

I have a 925 and a 908 that i got from Isellpens.com (no affiliation). I really like the 908....its fairly heavy for a slim pen and I think writes really well. The 925 has a partially hooded nib. I dont post them because they get somewhat long and unbalanced this way. I got them for a very good price. I think these 2 are a great value for the price.

Sorry - I don't know the number. It was one of the first pens I bought, and I don't have the box. (It may never have had one)

The nearest model I can find on ebay is the 916 Melage. Here is a photo of mine.

I have one that looks like this, 901

Inked it just to check for you, it was very slow starter. This pen had not been inked in months, probably more than a year. I think it just needed a little time for the feed to get very saturated. Dipped a little water and now it writes quite well. I do a few lines, cap it pick it up later and it starts right up. I think I will put it back in the rotation for awhile.

For the price, go ahead and try it, you might be very happy. Just give it a little time to soak up ink and a slight dip to get it started.

I have the 908 in red lacquer that I purchased from isellpens. The pen is way better than I would have expected out of a $10 pen. It wrote well out of the box and I have had no problem with it. I don't recall it ever getting dry on me
