Look for a sale of Sustainable Earth (bagasse) notebooks on or around April 22 (Earth Day). I walked out with a tall stack of various S.E. notebooks last year.

What goes on in Staples defies logic in my neighborhood store. roflmho.gif

Seriously. You should see my local Staples. :bonk:

And yes, I know it's bourbon.

I purchased a two pack of the smaller Sustainable Earth pads a few weeks ago and, in general, I am satisfied with them. As others have mentioned, there is quite a bit of show trough with FPs, and even a bit of bleed through, but that is not a deal breaker for me as I rarely use both side of a sheet anyway. I have, however, noticed that, with the pens and inks I am currently using, whatever I write seems to be "enlarged" in the sense that if I am using a fine nib it looks more like a medium, and a medium looks like a broad, etc. but, again, if I know what I am doing this is not a problem. Perhaps it would be best to describe this paper as fountain pen "cooperative" rather than friendly :P

YMMV,

Brian

Has anyone run across a brand called, "CaneFields"?? If you have, where did you see it?

Yeah, I've got about three reams of it. WB Mason sells it $30 for 5 reams. I think you could also buy it online, but with shipping the price gets a bit high. If im not mistaken I think the UCONN bookstore supposedly has it as well. They may have a list of where they sell/distribute.

It's one of my main go to papers right now. I enjoy using it, pretty well behaved with most inks.

Thank you. I checked the Canefield's website and non of whom is listed "for where to buy", carried it. Yes ... shipping can certainly put a wedge in online purchasing, especially due to it being so heavy!

Just had a look at the WB Mason website and I couldn't find it either. Maybe they stopped carrying it. I bought my five reams from WB mason last September or October I believe. I could mail you a couple sheets if you'd like to try them out- PM me.

Thank you, I appreciate it. I have a few sheets left, but was looking for a place to purchase more.

Staples used to call it "eco friendly", so the bagasse paper could show up under that name, as well. As mentioned above, notebooks of all sorts have earth-brown card-board covers. Both spiral and composition books.

The original batch came from Egypt, so check for tha, as well.

Very good for fountain pens, although it's thin. You might get some show-through, but no feathering / blotting / bleed-through.

In New York / New Jersey Staples, this paper comes and goes. Unpredictable supply.

I just took a look too. I still have the webpage in my browser history. Seems they have various webpage setups, Business, Home, etc.

I got punted to the Home (i.e. household) page where the Canefields isn't listed.

But if you go to the bottom of the page, and click Business, then the paper shows up.

I have found it on the WB Mason site, but I may have a better alternative. I invite you to check the bookstore associated with a major university near you - especially those operated by Barnes and Noble. I think that the Canefield website does not include all the places where it can be found. My local university had a stack of the stuff and said that it will be their staple copy paper. Good luck. I think that it is really good paper.

I've been looking for the ream or copy paper. Hard to find. I know that Cane Fields is supposed to offer this paper, but finding it locally, isn't happening.

Staples are also calling the Bagasse paper "Eco Easy" in the UK. I got Bamboo & Bagasse copier paper from Sainsbury's (a supermarket) yesterday so it is certainly being made.

I'll have to keep asking about it. Maybe they'll get it in. Thank you!

Depends what type you want and if you have a nearby Staples. If you do, you can order the bagasse/whaevertheycallit paper online for free store pickup. That's how I got my lined pads.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
