Pendleton Brown?

Recommended Posts

I keep reading posts about the wonders that Pendleton Brown can do with a pen, how wonderful the nibs that he works on are, etc., etc., but I have yet to find any contact info about him (her?) A search of FPN members does not bring up anything about him, and a Google search only seems to bring up more posts from FPN (and lots of info about the Pendleton woolen mills, lol.)

Does Pendleton Brown have a web site that can be accessed? I would love to see what he has to offer as far as fountain pens are concerned. I may not be able to afford his nib services or pens at this time, but I would at least like to see what I am missing. :D

Hope this helps!

Thank you all for your very prompt replies.

Does Pendleton have a web site or do you just contact him via PM to get information?

I think he has one for his children's music ministry but not for pens, it that arena I think he prefers simplicity of organizaton.

Go do a search in the historical classifieds here on FPN using his nickname.

That should sufficiently blow your mind. ;)

I just got a Bexley Corona w/ a medium stub nib, and let me tell you, the hype is real. This pen is easily the best writer I have now.

My TWSBI Medium Pendleton Point CI is as smooth or smoother than any of my gold nibbed pens. His rates for his grinds are an absurdly good deal.

Best,

Mike Truppi

Gaaa! I thought Pendleton Brown was a new Noodler's ink. What a great name! Sort of like Remington Steele.

Another happy customer of Pendleton's here! Nicest guy you'll ever meet, and I have two of his nibs and love them both. He did a "butter line" stub off of a TWSBI B nib for me that's fantastic; write up is here on my blog.

Edit because Ugh, I hate typing on an iPad! D@mn you, autocorrect!

Pendleton has done almost all me pens. I had him first do my TWSBI 530 about a year ago (March 2011) and I'm telling you he's the BEST. Since that first 530 I've had him do 11 more pens for me. In fact I plan to attend the Baltimore pen show and have him do 3 more pens.

I find myself buying larer nibs (Med / Broad) because I know I'm going to want him to modify them and I want to give him some width to work with.

You can't go wrong with giving him a shot at customizing your nibs.

Something about his posts hooked me when I first joined FPN a year ago - not the pen stuff, just "him". I eventually bought a pen from him with his nib work, and he worked on a couple others. Every time, it was a great experience.

One of the treasured memories I'll have of my first pen show - the recent LA Pen Show - was that he was the first person I saw when I walked in the room. My wife and I went over and spent about 20 minutes with him, and he surpassed all the good nature and genteel manner I had imagined in him.

In people like Pendleton, we are a rich community.

~ Benjamin Franklin
