An Unexpected Gift: Arabic Memories

After 3 years in the middle east I decided to change and to leave the arabic world.

Just to remember the time spent together my colleagues made me a very nice and appreciated gift: my first limited edition pen. The theme of the limited edition is of course the arabic world.

The pen is the Caran d'Ache Mille et Une Nuits. I find the pen very beautiful and my photos, sorry, are not showing how really beauty is this pen.

This is my 3rd CdA and I have to say that all of them are really well made and excellent writers.

Here some photos of the gift

Dear yamborghini,

yes, it is a real artwork. Most amazing is the fact that it is also a very good writer, very smooth. I guess that Caran d'Ache deserves more attention, it is not so common to find posts about this swiss brand but, in my opinion, is one of the best pen manufacturer.

That is GORGEOUS! :puddle: Does the step down to the section bother you? It's right where I hold my pens or I would be hunting one for myself

@ T.E. Samad

Thank you, it is. Unfortunately my photos are not so good.

@ Ghost Plane

thanks. No it it not bothering me. It is not a big pen, it is comfortable to hold and easy to use. I attach here some more photos of the pen and some made together with other well known pens in order to let you have an idea of the size.

Ah. It would be small for my preferences. Thank you for the comparison shots. The section is too narrow for me and I hold pens farther back on the body. But it's very beautiful. I know you'll love it for years!

Caran d'Ache pens are generally small. I do not have big hands and I hold them comfortably. Also most of the other CdA LE are of the same size, they are based on the Leman series. From what I saw these three models are bigger

the first two are also a little heavy for me but the Harmony, in my opinion, is stunning!!!

What I really appreciate of CdA is their nibs. they write really very well, without problems. I can compare them with japanese nibs in terms of construction quality. Perfect just out of the box.

yes, you are right but maybe in this way she would not have been able to have the same chances to save her own life

I have always drooled over the Gotica, but that darned step down from the body to the section is right where I hold my pens. :gaah: :bonk:

yes, you are right. It is also the same for Harmony model. I kept in the hands the Gotica and it is really very large size...

Thanks! One of these days I need to choose another verse from Baha'u'llah, get Salman Khattak to do the Arabic calligraphy again, and see what Henry comes up with the second time. :hmm1:

@Ghost Plane

hope to see you arabic calligraphy soon. I have seen some handwritten Quran and they were really beautiful. Unfortunately I did not have the time to learn Arabic...

I depend on Salman for Arabic calligraphy. I'm at the child's stage of learning the Farsi alphabet which is much the same thing.
