Yes quite ninja!

VP or Lamy 2000 are both stealthy.

Change is not mandatory, Survival is not required.

I think any of the suggestions mentioned above would be fine. The Pilot VP, the 45, and the 51 are three of my favorite pens. Here is another option, however. You could use either Pilot Varsity or Bic disposable fountain pens. They clearly have an FP nib, but in other respects are very similar looking to any number of disposable gel or rollerball pens with grey or black plastic bodies and removable caps. And even if someone did notice that you were using a FP, it would not look at all "showy" if that is your concern.

Ceci n'est pas une pipe

Ceci n'est pas une stylo.

Ceci n'est pas une plume.

EDIT: Oh, yeh, back to the original topic. Go for the VP. Mine are almost always mistaken for a BP. And Pilot puts out a VP BP ya know.

Hero 616 regular or jumbo would be an inexpensive option if you're worried about damage or loss. I got a ten pack of the jumbos for abou $20 on ebay and they've been great for use at school.

Hi,

Perhaps a Lady Parker 17 (UK), with its hooded nib and modest size.

If one chooses a Black model, even when/if the cap is posted, it should blend in quite nicely.

Ceci n'est pas une plume. (without the irony) And besides, a metal section? Just unacceptable.

Why on EARTH would anyone want to do that!?

The whole point of using a fountain pen is that it's an attention-grabber!

Okay, that's that off my chest.

If you really don't want people to notice. Use a biro.

Get a Parker Ingenuity, then if anyone asks you can deny you are using a fountain pen.

I've got a Parker Falcon flighter from the late 70s which is my go-to "sneaky" fountain pen.

I saw and used one of those for the first time last week when I went to my friends house to help him cleans and resurrect his old pens. They are very neat and I would like to get my hands on one.

Same here, but right now they're available for about $100 USD and that's more than I can swing right now...*sigh*

For inexpensive pens, Waterman's made a C/C (not the C/F) that has a partially hidden nib. It is a lower end Waterman's cartridge filler, and usually writes pretty well. You may have to look a bit to find one.

A Parker 51 with an aerometric filler is pretty no fuss.

There are a few pen models out now with black nibs. This could also keep your pen un-noticed. A Monteverde Invincia Stealth comes to mind. But it's a pretty big pen with a large nib. So that might tip it off.

A Parker "51" is about as subtle you can get in a fountain pen. I sit on a couple of local boards, and am usually tasked to take the meeting notes. Most never notice that I'm using a fountain pen, as most think it's an older ballpoint.

Standard Capless, aka Vanishing Point, is a little on the chunky side, which undermines its stealth qualities, in my opinion. The Capless Decimo, on the other hand, is almost never noticed as a fountain pen, and a few people didn't believe me when I mentioned it was. However, while using it to write my address for my previous landlord, his assistant remarked to him, "did you see the fountain pen he's using?". I guess it's not completely invisible.

Robert.
