Hi

i have some FPens with "Europen" brand, (the e is actually a euro sign)

wanted to ask if anyone has any info on it ?

i searched and found nothing, it seems like an unknown local, or global pen maker.

I only found a website: http://www.europen-pen.com/ Looks like you have a model called "Castle".

The other results are for something called "The European Organization for Packaging and the Environment" (it has a .be domain so this is most likely not part of the EU, everything that is part of the EU uses the europa.eu domain (note the A!)).

oh thanks,

yes that site is the one !

and yes mine is castle.

but i don't know where is the origin of the company but for sure it has a close business with Iran,

look at the limited editions, and all of them are Iranian concepts and designs.

You can whois the domainname (in OS X you open Terminal and simply type "whois europen-pen.com" and hit enter). Gives you results of who registered it which would be the following:

Registrant:

Reza habibi molavi@gmail.com +98.2188064051 +98.2188064051

pishrohost

No 1 , saba St , Shaikhbahaei Ave

Tehran,Tehran,IR 32460

Iran-based even it seems. It was created on 4/11/2007 so I guess they exist for at least 4 years.

FYI: any information that comes up with a whois search is publicly available information. This is one of the reasons why some of the registries limit the information given by the whois search. One of them is the Dutch .nl TLD. It only returns the name of the registrant and the e-mail address unless you are a member of the registry (=SIDN-member).

But enough of that...how does that pen write?

.be is a Belgian domain, IOW a European domain.

That's not true. Most European web sites use their national domain..be is Belgium. And my own country is .dk. Both countries are very much within the EU.

A friend of mine has one of them. They're an Iranian company I believe, or at least made for the Iranian market and sold in Iran.

Hello peoples,

Could just be re-branded Chinese pens. Have a look at this link - http://www.europen-pen.com/node/343 - this is seriously just a Jinhao 159 - have not even changed the Chariot on the shield on the clip. Cannot quite make out the cap band, but it looks like it ends in "O" and right where the clip is pointing certainly looks like an "H". (The picture has a magnifier.)

Me again,

This is almost fun - trying to figure out which pens they are - Europen has another one called "City" which I thought looked familiar - interesting clip. I have a Baoer 517 which is identical (except for the nib).

OK, last one from me, although there are bound to be more - the Europen "Victor" is a Baoer 3035 - again identical except for nib.

And, just out of interest, the Baoer 517 and Baoer 3035 that I have have nothing written on the cap - totally blank - so real easy to engrave.

thanks for sharing , yes most of them seems to be rebranded, other than those who are actually original designs (Khayyam, Cyrus Cylynder ...)

Are Khayyam and Cyrus Cylynder brands or models? And where could I find or see those?

TIA, warm regards, Wim

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
