Christopher Lowell 31-Day Mail/Bill Organizer

I've been getting a lot of letters since I joined FPN, so I went ahead and bought myself an organizer. I was actually surprised that people still make things like this nowadays! You can buy it at Office Depot for $17.99. (Levenger has a similar one for $88.)

The top drawer is felt-lined at the bottom, and can be used for holding envelopes, address books, etc.

The bottom drawer held a pleasant surprise! There is a felt-lined compartment for holding up to 4 pens. The other compartments are good for holding clips, stamps, wax seals, etc.

I bought one of those at Office Depot about 18 months ago, as part of my "Don't pay Levenger's prices" resolution. The OD is every bit as nice as your photos show. Well made, very sturdy.

Now I'm looking for a project box. WalMart had one about four years ago, and I didn't buy it -- haven't seen one since. I think theirs was about $25. Still kicking myself.

It's $168. More if you want drawers in it. Each of the little cubbies is big enough for a letter-size notebook to fit into it.

Thanks Hana for mentioning this item--

I went immediately and ordered one. I looked for an item like this at my local Office Depot a few weeks ago, and only found a cardboard accordian file. This seems like a really nice item to store letters, stationery and pens!

I wish I knew where to find cardboard letter organizers like the ones that were made years ago. My dad sent me one full of old family letters recently. They were a self-contained box with a latch, and inside lettered files. The outside had a black and white mottled pattern like old essay notebooks.

After seeing this post, I was out grocery shopping and I thought I'd stop by the local Office Despot to see if I could find one of these. Nothing in the desk accessories aisle (with the other Christopher Lowell stuff), so I thought I'd just pick up some other supplies that I needed. (Erasers and vis-a-vis pens, if you must know.) I made my usual stop at clearance, and there they were!

Mine is a darker wood, but it cost me a whopping $6.04 + tax. Might be worth a look in the clearance section of your local OD!

Looking a little more closely, mine is slightly different, with three drawers instead of two -- a full-length bottom drawer and two half-length upper drawers. I'll add a picture shortly.

You guys are not helping! :)

Thanks for the info Bill! I'm sure hubby will indulge me for $6 dollars.

I think I saw a project box in one of the bed bath and beyond catalogues or was it the container store? Check their website.

I think I may also have seen it in Target.

Edited to say I did see them at Target and here is the link. Those are in white.

Thanks for the info on this mail/bill organizer, Umenohana. There are no Office Depots anywhere around here, so I ordered it on line. I ordered it shortly before Christmas & it came in 2 days and there was no shipping fee!! What service! I am very satisfied with the product as well.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
