Diamine Majestic Blue Vs. Private Reserve Electric Dc Blue

Nam, I just went through the same thing, trying to choose between those two colors. In the end I chose PR Electric DC Blue and now I wish I had gone with Majestic Blue. The PR is insanely saturated, but it's a lot less rich than it looked in the writing samples I've seen. I was expecting more of a cobalt blue sort of thing, but this is almost a midnight blue, with more green in it than I would have expected. So I think I'm going to get myself a bottle of Diamine Majestic Blue. I hope you're enjoying it!

I just got my 30 mL bottle of Majestic Blue just today actually. I paid $3.63 for it from Nordic Pen Imports, took a while to shipped (about 10 days I think) but it's worth it because the price is just too good. I'm excited to ink it up in my Pilot 78G :) I hope you will eventually get yours!

P.S. I went through the same think for red ink, I bought the waterman red instead of the sheafer red and I regret that too, I don't know what to do now, lol Maybe i'll mix some black into it :D

Let us know what you think once you start writing with it!

If you're looking for a really nice true red, with no orange or blue in it, I recommend Diamine Classic Red. I love it. If you go to Goulet Pens' website, you can get samples of inks so you don't have to get a whole bottle. I think I'm going to get some samples of various blues so I can test them out so I don't make the same mistake again! :)

I just inked it up and I loved it!! The color really really is saturated blue. All of those reviews didn't lie after all roflmho.gifI wish MY PEN would not shade at all though. I like my writing to be intense and one solid color but of course, that has nothing to do with the perfect blue of the ink.

Beside trying to get rid of the FULL bottle of waterman red ink that I've bought and has only inked once so far, I don't think I'll be buying any more ink in a while, ha I have much less of a need for red ink than I thought I would.

i know it's been a long while since the last reply, and i was just going through this for the exact same reason: PR Electric DC Blue vs Diamine Majestic Blue. i already ordered the Diamine, and this is what i wanted to mention here: The Writing Desk (based in UK, and i think, quite popular on FPN) sells 100 ml bottles of a few select colours at about 4.99 GBP (for customers outside UK) and 5.99 for those in UK. basically, it's Diamine ink, with the same names, etc., made specially for The Writing Desk. given the cost/ml, i think it's quite a good deal. their shipping charges are quite reasonable too. i ordered it just yesterday, and i'm yet to receive the package. No affiliation with them or anything, just mentioning so that if you wanna decide in terms of cost, then maybe this'll give even more of an edge to Diamine.
