It's hard to state specifically, but the comb feed came on in about 1932 with the Golden Arrow (which became the Vacumatic). What pen are you trying to date?

A burgundy-black double-banded streamlined Parker Duofold.

These models come on the market in 1929, definitely at a time when the Christmas Tree feed was in use.

Thanks. My pen's feed is NOT x-mas--tree-type. But the nib and the body carries words "duofold". So is the feed not original? Or is it just that it is a later in the line?

Unfortunately, there's no real way of telling if the feed is original. The pens were made both ways. You see a lot more pens with the Christmas Tree feed than with the comb feed, so based on that we could speculate that the feed on yours is probably a replacement.

Streamline burgundy button fillers came out later in the Duofold line, right before the Vacumatic was introduced so it's possible that the feed could be original to the pen. I've seen other burgundy pens with the comb feed and I would be surprised if I found out that the feeds on all those pens were replaced over the years. I've also seen later Duofolds with arrow nibs too, so I'm sure Parker was using up leftover Duofold bodies and fitting them with the new nibs and feeds designed for its next top of the line pen.

I'd rather spend my money on pens instead of shoes and handbags.
