Pelikan M1000

Could someone post a sample writing of the M nib for the Pelikan M1000? Thanks.

Quick & dirty scan of my chicken scratches (10mm squares, sorry but scan is not colour-accurate at all).

All M1000 nibs.

Thanks, great examples. Do you have nibs that you can interchange with one another on this pen? I was told that it is difficult to do and expensive to purchase just a nib.

Do you have the M800 with various nibs?

No, they are five different pens embarrassed_smile.gif sorry, they are just FOUR.

I have only one M800 (clear demo), M-nibbed, but it is uninked right now.

5 M1000's, that's amazing!

Do you have any Viscontis or know anything about the Art, Nouveau or Divina?

No Visconti (yet?), sorry.

I guess it would depend on how much anal retentia you suffer about matching pens with inks.

For some, a green striped pen would be good for only black, browns, or greens.. a blue striper (not to be confused with stripper, which would be found only in an after hours club on Pandora) would be for black and blues...

Now a black pen with rhoduim trim... ahhhh that goes with all colors nicely..

Heh...

Seriously though, my favorite is the blue stripe, followed by black/silver, then green stripe, then red stripe, then black/gold

But, if you're looking to find something that states "Pelikan!!!!!" from a distance, I'd say either the green or blue would do that best.

for me it is black, elegant, sober and classic

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Being a traditionalist, I initially went for the green M1000 (fine nib) but liked the pen so much that when I had the opportunity to purchase the elegant black version with a medium nib, I couldn't turn it down.

They look great side by side and make a facinating comparison to my MB 149s (but that is for another thread).

Forced to choose between the two........ummm.........the green.........just.

Pavoni.

Green striped finish!

1) More beautiful in my opinion

2) Almost scratch-free

3) Allows a inward vision of the reservoir, piston rod and piston house

4) Classic finish

5) Pelikan exclusive finish. Recall the Pelikan pens of the 50's

6) This pattern is innovative since it was created

7) The black finish makes this pen similar to many other out there

Edited: I know it's not a good advice for your 1st M1000, but the M1000 3B nib (which is stub in fact) is one of the 3 best pens/ nibs I have. I use it as a everyday pen, however my handwriting is medium to large size.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
