Super Norma 4 Color Pencil

I have a Super Norma 4 color mechanical pencil which I cannot identify. I have looked everywhere and searched and searched but still don't have a clue about it.

It has an art deco aura about it, especially the cap. It also has a plastic or glass jewel in the cap which looks like a garnet. The pencil measures about 5 1/4 inches in length

On one face of the upper section it reads: PATENT. On the next face down it reads GERMANY and right below that, on the same face is something I can't quite read. It is NOT DRGM. It looks like DEC10 or maybe DECID.I can't tell.

There is no imprint to tell if it is gold plated or to what degree.

Here is a collage image . I hope someone can identify it.

Thanks,

Have a look here.

As far as I know if it were a Fend it would have an inscription saying so. So I guess it isn't. And I can't read the other inscription either. The E looks more like a 3 though. Is it not no 01930?

Have a look at my pens for sale here or follow me @penatelier.
And if you have any information on OWA pens, made by Peter Jungmann somewhere near Heidelberg, Germany, please let me know.

Roger's definitely the man to talk to about Norma pencils. :-)

I have 2 different early (pre war) Norma's as well; a super norma and a Fend. You can see them here

I have been in contact with one of the German dealers on ebaY and he has a very similar fend listed on ebaY that makes me think mine is a Fend. The clip, the sliders, the cap and the logo is the same on both, and his is jeweled like mine.He did not know what company that logo represents, but these are a very high end pencils so they must have been a special award of some sort.

Take a look at his auction. It is auction number 150620258660 or just follow this link:

Hello

But it actually is the Fend and Fendograph style with the stepping cap top. Running smaller or wider as you see in the pic below. Even the post war Fends wit the more streamlined corpus had one step at the cap top. The USA Normas had a cylindric cap top.

And, really, no US producer would imprint "Germany".

Kind Regards

Thomas

And I stand corrected as I read here that The German firm of Fend offered Norma pencils under the Fend Norma brand, but most seem simply to be marked "Norma."

I got here a Super NORMA, " 800 pattent " So it's 925 stirling silver. But no markings Germany or Fend on it, but I can't get the right leads for it ( 0,47 or 0,46 )

does anybody know the value of it or where I could sell it ?

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
