Kristi, are you in Flickr? there are several of us in there. That was a beautiful trip to Turkey!

I've generally used Photobucket. I'll check out Flickr. It would be pretty easy to upload my folders of pics.

I like the way they have it organized and how you can connect with other people/groups. Even if their format is jpeg, it is of a good quality. They have a feature that nobody can download your pictures.

ohmy.gif Awesome sunsets! They look like paintings! Love the subtle pastels against the vivid oranges. Excellent photos!

Welcome to Flickr, Kristi! I'll check your pictures out right away. Most of us on it (I think) use it to post here, so you can just click on the name or caption hyperlink beneath the photo and find the person. So if you click on "2careless" or "St Kilda Pier sunset" in sunnerd's post quoted by Sonia above you, you can find him. I'm jon5cents.

Edited to add: Several of us have links in our signature.

Okay, I'm being dumb, I think. How are you posting your Flickr pictures here? When I try to use the Grab the Link for a photo, FPN tells me I can't use that extension.

Just go to the page of the picture you want to share, click on "share" above it, make sure to click on the "BBcode" under "Grab the...", then just paste it into your FPN post-it should show up when you preview your post.

Another edit to add: One thing that I like about Flickr is that when you click on a picture in it, it takes you to a black background for viewing pictures-a much better viewing experience, IMO.

Ah, I was using the HTML code. Thanks!

I've been fascinated with Alexander the Great since I read the Mary Renault books many years ago, so I had to capture this at the museum at Antalya.

Poppin' in real quick -- WOW! I <3 this thread!

I went to the California Palace of the Legion of Honor today and saw The Old Dutch Masters of Light! It was amazing, how these Dutch and Flemish artists were able to convey light and snow and storm and LIGHT and drama -- and the colors and the light! I was blown away. Again. It's like I forget between being reminded. Having my attention captured from across the room by the light conveyed in a painting... a PAINTING! is an amazing experience. These guys lived in the late 1500s to mid-1600s... just wow.

Okay. I'm hoping to add some photos to this thread from SANTA CRUZ! Or CARMEL! later this week (starting tomorrow) (maybe). Hee.

Rock on, you hot photographers!

So Lisa, did you already took your vacation?

It's been raining here so much... then I was on call (thank God, I would have hated being on call on sunny days). No new photos lately sad.gif. I'll just have to go to the FQ or the old parts of the city for a photo safari...

Yay Kristi! Got you on Flickr! thumbup.gif

I think I got a working link in my signature. So far, I like Flickr. The upload of all those pictures didn't take very long.

Here's one more Spice Market picture. I brought 2 kilos of mixed olives back for my husband, and we're still eating them. The vendors all have equipment to vacuum-pack anything you buy.

Thanks, Sonia! It was a wonderful trip.

I enjoyed taking pictures too. I think I took about 1,300 in all, most of which, of course, went in the trash bin. I was the one who kept wandering away from the group (to comments from the trip leader about how there was one in every group who thought they worked for National Geographic).

I'd better go back to work on my ark now. (We've had almost 2" of rain already, and we're in the 6-12" zone.)

I tried to post a picture and a link here last night -- hit "post" and got the maintenance error. D'oh!

Sonia, I'm on my bike trip now. I rode 70 miles to Santa Cruz yesterday. I talked about it on in another thread: a little detour off subject.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
