Vintage Visconti Id Please

Hi from Italy,

just found this Visconti, I think is an early production,

black and pearl celluloid, gold filled nib, CC filler, about 13 Cm long,

I'd like to know models name and production year, before put it for sale,

jus to be more sharp in description.

This is like deja vu all over again. See here, but I repaste photos and info for you.

Paolo, I'd say it's a Classic. The photo Susanna posted from Visconti's site, I think is actually of the later Replica (unless Visconti changed design mid-production). N.B. the cap bands

Your pen looks like the first three pens -- note the cap bands.

1-3: Classic, C/C. Note the cap bands compared to the Replicas and D'Essais

4: Replica, piston - has a steel Tropen nib, quite flexy.

5: D'Essai Ocra, piston - special run only 50 pens made (I have the card with the name and total pens made); this was not part of the official D'Essai set of pens. Celluloid was also used earlier on some Replicas.

6-10: D'Essai, piston. n. 10 has a form closer to the Replica (n. 3) with an ink window. But it's the D'Essai Fuchsia, only 170 made.

11: Pontevecchio, C/C (regular, non-LE version). Adriatic Stone celluloid.

12: Viscontina purple, syringe.

Thank you very much for this, Eric47. I just bought two Replica's on the bay and this helped me determine the model. I had thought they were likely Classic's. Interestingly, one has a "Tropen Nichroma" GP steel nib and the other an otherwise unbranded "14K". Both pens are quite nice and I'm pleased to have them in my collection.

I notice that there's a striking resemblance to Tropen pens of the same vintage. I wonder if Visconti sourced their early pens from them. Does anyone have any information on this?
