i meant to get a Lapis & a Vulcan Coral (and some ink) but i had some trouble with the check out and wound up with 2 Blues... i was afraid to lose everything if i tried to edit so i'll be happy with the Blues...

i'm in Canada so i think the good folk at Goulet will be sitting on my order until things look better in CanadaPostland.

i haven't been this uptight since trying to get tickets for the Grateful Dead, and i hope I'll be just as satisfied too!

I signed in at 1:03, waited for the flexes to come up, and ordered a Lapis. It took a while to sign in, and it made me fill in a shipping address when I'm a returning customer, then it said I had ordered two and not one. I corrected that and then it said I had ordered 3, or 4, I forget which.

I tweeted a Help! to Brian and I hope he saved me one. If not, that's all right. I'll get it next time around, she said, pouting. :crybaby:

Never mind. I'd rather wait for the next set of colors. I'll email Brian.

I pulled in a Cardinal Darkness, and had loaded my cart previously with some ink samples,a Lamy convertor and some empty ink bottles (I'm getting into mixing...). Didn't want to pay postage just for one itsy-bitsy pen! :)

So now we all wait. All this excitement over a $14.00 pen. Kind-of makes it like the anti-Mont Blanc. :ninja:

:roflmho: 'the anti-Mont Blanc'!! :ltcapd:

I have a black/white one from the last insanity, and it's currently in the drawer. The Vulcan Coral - great name, great color - was tempting, but I just couldn't get that excited about another one when I don't use the one I've got.

Looks like they still have some available (not demonstrator or lapis).

I put two items in "my cart" before 1 P.M.; had the picture of the flex pens on the screen and cursor poised over "Add"; thought I'd be more efficient (NOT) by trying to slip over and sign in and put in PW to, in my mind, expedite the forthcoming checkout process; however, in getting back to the flex pen picture to hit "Add", the site froze; could not get anywhere; at some point, during the next 35 minutes, I got an image of the cart total (pen still not able to be added at that point), which said I had 16 items in my cart and the price had jumped; had not yet been able to add the pen; went out and tried to return to the site---big mistake----just prolonged the process; was about ready to call it quits when the picture of the flex pens came back up on screen; finally, a view of the "cart" appeared and, fortunately, all the extra items had disappeared----guess that computer corrected itself. I didn't try to land one of the demonstrator pens; instead, I chose "pumpkin" because the color is distinctive and will represent my one flex nib pen; have never tried to use a dedicated flex nib before and enjoyed watching Nathan's video using it on You Tube. Figure I'll take it with me to the D.C. Show in August and find some not so novice writers there to assist me in developing skills. The final checkout was uneventful; looking forward to receiving the pen and sharing my experiences with it with others on FPN. Enjoy your pens :bunny01:

I got a Poltergeist Pumpkin. I have lots of blue pens and I am not that excited by the two "red" colors or the demonstrator. Like most people the site was way slow. I finally got checked out and my confirmation at 1:21pm. I wonder how long before they can get them all mailed out? We should all pray for their stamina. This will be my first flex nib and I wanted to try it out without having to spend thousands on an Waterman #7 Pink (like I ever could!).

He came down from heaven and was made man.

Same here, saw the great price and had to jump on the opportunity to try it out.

Got two - the Vulcan's Coral for myself and the Cardinal Darkness for a friend. I was worried I wouldn't get my hands on any, as I've been wanting to try out a flex pen for ages. Now I just have to wait for the Canada Post strike to end before getting my package! :gaah:

well...I wanted a demonstrator, clicked on it as soon as it was available, and 4 got added to my cart...probably should have kept them as when I added my Cardinal darkness and reduced my demo to 1 and proceeded to checkout it dropped my final demo completely, then it wouldn't add in the shipping, and made me resign in to check out (even though I had signed in in advance to try to save the time...). I did end up getting the Cardinal Darkness and the two inks I had placed in my cart earlier (Noodler's Bulletproof black and #41)...but I am a bit disappointed at the demo snafu, it was in my hands and I let it slip away by trying to be fair, next time I will just check out with 4 and can sell the other ones...oh well, another time I guess....

Of course in their usual incredibly wonderful style I have already been contacted by them and they had an excellent substitute to offer. I am thrilled and it is an example of why I do business with them!

I ended up with a total of five (2 Lapis Inferno, 2 Vulcan's Coral, 1 Cardinal Darkness). Before anyone gets mad about that, I was ordering for my brothers too (want some spares in case we spring a nib).

For some reason I'm not entirely surprised that the demonstrators and the lapis infernos sold out first. Perhaps I should have checked isellpens a while ago to hop on one when they were put up there >_>

Pelikan m200 F nib - Noodler's Midway Blue

TWSBI Diamond 530 EF nib - Noodler's X-Feather

Pilot Decimo F nib - Noodler's North African Violet

I have just asked Goulet if they would change one of my clear demonstrators for either a poltergeist pumkin or a cardinal darkness as I didn't realise how popular they would be.. I hope they do a swap to give someone else a chance of the demonstrator...I also would probably prefer two different pens. Keep an eye out it may be available soon!

They have just changed one for pumpkin! So if you really wanted a clear demonstrator send them a message now!

I had multiples added to my cart too- I think it was my fault- the page wasn't reflecting that I had pressed the "add to cart" button (or even changing out of stock to in stock), so I kept pressing. The cart finally updated, even though the button did not ever work, and I realized that I had a lot of pens! (It wasn't specific to the demonstrator- I managed to end up with multiples of two different colors.)

Anyway, I was able to remove the extras from my cart without losing the pens that I wanted to buy. I think it is always better to try and be fair; Sorry that you lost your pen! Hopefully your red pen will be awesome!

I'm wondering if its using AJAX calls and they were taking awhile to update, but every time you clicked it got queued and eventually added them.

I bought one of each of the coloured ones (demonstrator's don't really do it for me).

Don't worry, I'm not keeping all of them: I've now got some birthday presents/random gifts lined up for family and friends; it'll save me having to do the 'presents scramble' over the next few months - it is indeed a good thing to have family members who use fountain pens and to have a couple of friends who are interested in trying flex.

I've got an ivory darkness (black/white swirly) that I use quite often that I bought a couple of months back - so I don't really need another for myself, but it's just that magpie-mentality: that compulsive need to collect and amass, especially if different colours of the same thing are available (I suppose I can count myself fortunate that I was too old for the whole Pokemon craze, because, well, damn).

Whatever; I'm sure that some Oxbridge PhD with a hyphenated name has written a thesis on such an affliction.

I think perhaps that I will keep the red/black swirly (cardinal darkness) for myself... or perhaps the pumpkin one?(gotta love those Halloween colours)... or maybe the blue one?... (:P)

I also picked up some of that silicon grease and spare o-rings (on a whim really) since I really cannot be bothered scouring the wretched hive that is my home city for them if the occasion for their need should ever arise, although I suppose that the ivory darkness I've got is getting tougher to twist open for cleaning...

I figured they'd all be gone by now! But when I saw a few of them still there I had to get one. I ordered a Cardinal darkness along with a bunch of inks I'd had in my cart for a week or so. I haven't the vaguest idea how to use this thing but after hearing about flex and seeing the results I want to give it a try. Just looks like fun and the arts and crafts nerd in me must make an attempt!

I figure if it doesn't work out there will be someone else who'd like to give it a go.

Vulcan's Coral reminds me of candycanes and Star Trek. Which basically meant I had to have it. the Lapis one actually reminds me of my Grandfather, who used to have tons of pens and lots of them were that marbled blue/white color. I couldn't figure out why I wanted it so much til that thought crossed my mind. I suppose I miss him. :)
