So... Who Got There Noodlers Flex Pens Today?

I just ordered two noodlers flex pens from gouletpens.com One in lapis inferno the other in vulcan's coral. I was wondering who else ordered them and in what colors?

Ordered a Lapis Inferno.... took a while, but finally go through. The website must be slammed!!

I ordered one from someone else on Saturday. I got the Poltergeist Pumpkin one. I didn't want to try to fight with everyone else to try to buy one from the Goulets, which turned out to be a very good thing, because it looks like their site couldn't keep up with the load.

I got a Lapis inferno as well. I can't wait to get it and see what that color looks like in person.

I got a demonstrator and a Lapis Inferno. It took a little while, but other than that everything went smoothly!

I had no trouble adding my other items to the cart beforehand, but when I went to add the pen just after 1:00 EDT, the website suddenly became very, very sloooow. You could practically hear the server groaning under the strain.

I ordered the orange and got the confirmation. I have to say surprised about the situation I experienced today. I had my browser set to refresh every thirty seconds. When 1300 rolled around the page for the pens still showed them to be OOS. I would think in this age of the internet that things would be good to go at the appointed time. The pen actually didn't show up as being in stock until around about five minutes after one. After that the to be expected bog down of the browser kicked in. Don't get me wrong, I understand in this internet age (have I used that buzzword already?) about sites getting slammed with traffic. Anyone that has bought concert tix or sporting event have had this happen. The thing I am less tolerant about is the punctuality thing. Since a script can be set up in the system as to when to unlock the item it wouldn't require any human input to have the computer open the item for business so to speak. Well <rant off> looking forward to the flex experience.

I did the same! I was going to try to get a demonstrator, but those disappeared almost instantly. XD I figure if I love them I can have two different colors inked up, if I sort of love them I have an extra for trade/pif, and if I hate them there's plenty of folks on fpn who'd like a go.

Yeah, I did the same thing (purchased some things before one, then lurked on the Flex pen page). I think the check-out took 15 minutes!

 

I bought 2- a clear one and the raspberry one. I've never used a flex pen (and am generally new to fps). I am in awe of some of the lovely shading on writing posted here at fpn, and hope that the flex pen will really show this effect.

 

I guess the Goulets are going to be very busy packing and shipping for the next few days!

I was fortunate and ordered two clear demonstrators... :embarrassed_smile: It did take a while through goulet pens...I was hoping it wasn't going to crash on me and I would lose what was in my cart! I waited until the minute they said they would be available and pressed the button...They came from being out of stock to in stock within 2 mins...the demonstrators at Goulet now appear to be out of stock again..hence the embarrassed smile!

The other colours are still there though if you want one (I bet not for long!)

Before 1 o'clock I was sure I was going to get a Lapis Inferno but at the last minute decided to get the Vulcan Coral instead. Most of my pens are blue or black so I thought it would be a nice change of pace to get a different color. Hope I don't regret it.

 

Like everyone else it took forever to check out but it happened eventually and I got my confirmation email.

I just bought two flex pens (Cardinal Darkness and Poltergeist Pumpkin) as well as some ink samples. I can't wait to try out the flex nibs!

I think my checkout took about 15 minutes as well. It was impressive to see the site go from working like normal to a crawl as soon as the clock rolled over to 10:00 AM (I live on the west coast).

 

I picked up a sample of black swan in Australian roses and black swan in English roses to see if I can get any of that lovely shading to happen for me. Never used a flex pen before this should be fun

I pulled in a Cardinal Darkness, and had loaded my cart previously with some ink samples,a Lamy convertor and some empty ink bottles (I'm getting into mixing...). Didn't want to pay postage just for one itsy-bitsy pen!

 

So now we all wait. All this excitement over a $14.00 pen. Kind-of makes it like the anti-Mont Blanc.

I am now VERY glad I stooped quibbling over getting the Lapis or the Vulcan ... and got both
