Is There A List Of All The Finishes The Modern Duofold Came In?

parkercollector.com doesn't seem to have an article on them and while some dealers still show pics of old limited editions, there doesn't seem to be a complete list?

Is there one/can we start one?

Thanks

What a Goober I am.

When I copied and pasted my list from a txt file, I missed the bottom half :headsmack:

Amazing what that fermented apple juice can do to ya.

Thanks for the Akkerman Ceejaybee, that was a new one on me.

Wow, I didn't realise there were so many! Nice work compiling the list, the only others I can think of are the World Memorial and the Akkerman...... now you just need to start on the standard colours ;)

I think there was a Harry Potter made exclusively for the Asian market.

The Mandarin should be in there somewhere as well.

There should also be a "Staff Pen" which I think numbered 25 - unless it's the Newhaven referred to.

I haven't heard of the new striped pen-I'll be looking to get one.

Still looking for the St Petersburg pen (not the gold-that I somehow think was limited to 25 or even less).

Now looked for and found the Stripe, it was made in blue and red!

Looks quite different from other new Duos - in a word - stunning :)

That is a fabulous list. Great to have a place to refer to for the different models. Thanks, baz.

Some are coming back to me now. There were the Douglas MacArthur and Norman Rockwell.

Hi Skybird

Yes, the staff pen is the Newhaven I referred to.

As can be seen on the C.O.A. the total number produced was 175.

There is also the 1988 Collector Edition which was a special edition of 10000 pens in black. This pen did not have a different finish from standard Duofolds of the period but instead featured a special cap badge with "Centennial 1888-1988".

What are perhaps less common are the blue and burgundy marbled versions of this pen. I've got a photo of each somewhere so I'll dig it out later.

From Baz666's list, it also seems that there were some further subsets within the LEs. I've seen a WWII Commemorative Duofold Big Red that came out of the run of 1100 from 2005. The one I saw had an additional plaque noting that Parker "authorized" 60 of the 1100 Big Reds from 2005 to be designated as WWII Commemoratives. Presumably the choice of 60 was to coincide with the then-60th Anniversary of the end of WWII.

Does anyone know if this type of designation was a corporate Parker marketing effort or something organized by a pen reseller? Thanks.

Did I just miss it or are the Navy and Chocolate Pinstripe models not on the list? Think they were UK models...

Oops, guess I wasn't thinking...this was not a LE edition....

Which makes me realize another question.....

Is there a list somewhere of all the various non-LE editions of modern Duofolds?

Thanks!

I can add one :- The Delhi Commonwealth Games Edition. 2011, only 19 were made.!!

His Royal Highness was recently in India for the launch of the Parker Duofold Centennial Black GT limited edition pen, which aims to capture the spirit of the 19th Commonwealth games by having the roman numerals XIX engraved on it.

Just 19 have been manufactured, crafted from velvet black cast acrylic with 23-carat gold-plated trim and meticulous engravings that recall the Queen’s horse guard in his golden vest. But the true beauty lies in their 18-carat gold nib with highlighted platinum, more than worthy of signing a royal scroll or two. Now the Prince has one, there are now just 18 of these imperial beauties left.

I'm running an information site for Parker collector's and I was wondering if you'd consider letting me use your Delhi-image?

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
