I just picked up these pads - 4 pads, 60 sheets each with a ruled margin.

The sheets are 5x8 in.

They are terrific!

Here's what i like about them:

1. Cheap: 5 bucks for 4 pads at Staples

2. 20lb and have a slight stiffness and crispness that feels good.

3. ivory is easy on the eyes

4. No feathering & drying time is pretty fast. I use fine and medium nibs that aren't gushers and my inks are Waterman, Aurora, Montblanc, Quink washable blue, so your mileage may vary.

5. They have a slight texture that provides some feedback that i really like. Writing on ultra smooth paper gives me the willies for some reason, and I avoid them like the plague.

6. They have a microperforated top edge that tears cleanly.

7. I like the dark tan look of leather band.

It may be me but the pictures seem to have disappeared. What is the brand name of the pads? Are they Staples house brand?

Blade Runner, you and I must have the same "paper personality", because very smooth papers give me that same feeling - especially when the pen skips (nails on chalkboard is this sensation's only equal, IMO). America's Finest sounds like just the kind of paper I've been looking for. Can it be found anywhere online?
