My Personal Pocket Notebook

Recommended Posts

Looks good. Any plans on making them stitch bound instead of staple bound?

Hi ExcaliburZ,

The Hitlist books are saddle stitched (stapled) as that is the only method I have available "in house".

I can't wait to get my hands on the final package! I've already got a review up of the prototype which can be found here. Great notebooks!

Need a pen repaired or a nib re-ground? I'd love to help you out.

while we are waiting for the website to be completed I would be happy to send out a Hitlist to interested members who have not tried one yet. PM your mailing address to me and I will pop one in the mail.

To those that haven't tried these, I'd recommend taking Curt up on his very generous offer. These little notebooks are nicer (more functional) than you'd expect.

I am a bit late to this but I did send out a PM.

Simplistic design, thick 118g paper, fp friendly, opens wide and no lines... Sounds perfect to me.

Cheers,

rj

Free samples? What to the UK? LOL

I would love one but cannot ask nor expect a free one sent here. I look forward to the website being ready as I love the look of these and some good reviews on here. That very simple pen slot is superb.

Nice job!

Hi Folks,

I want to let you know that our website is not ready yet. We are learning as we go and it is taking longer than I had anticipated. After the website is finished our financial institution that will be handling secure payments must do there approval which can take up to 2 weeks.

I can let everyone know I plan to offer the books for sale in bundles of 5 books as the photo below. They will come shrink wrapped with a long lasting silicone band so you can store the books together when finished. We are also just finishing a new and higher quality run of Hitlist's. I changed the black ink on the cover to a special UV ink that will resist fading over time. Also added is a matte varnish to the inside cover to eliminate some marking that was happening. The box that you add your information to is not varnished for writability.

I am sorry for the delay and will give a new projected release date in the next few days.

I just got mine in today's mail and it is the perfect size - fits like a glove in an inside blazer pocket. Great design, waiting for a "launch" date for the website!

I too am hungrily awaiting the website! I've completely stopped using Clairefontaine (for issues which I will not attempt to describe for fear of causing an argument... rolleyes.gif ) and I'm almost done with my CTF hitlist notebook. I'm filling it up fast because I just love writing in it!

Can't wait to stock up! I just hope there's enough to go around... unsure.gif

I'm already setting some money aside for a hopeful purchase next week or the week after if the website is up :) these little things are perfect for me.

hopefully, in the future and if this is a success, which I believe it will be, I hope you make one that is a little larger with some different bindings.

either way, i'm on the train writing in it now! LOVE HITLIST!

Hello Everyone,

Thanks to all for the recent positive comments, I am happy that you are, like me, enjoying your Hitlists!

The website is almost finished, we are now in the process of integrating UPS software so you can choose your shipping method. You can see what has been done so far at hitlistbooks.com Please keep in mind there are still some typos to be fixed. As I mention a little while ago this process is taking longer than I had expected and because the 5 packs are ready to find homes I want to offer them for sale asap. I am going to finalise pricing today for 1,2 and 3 or more packs and also give some estimates to mail through Canada Post as that seems to be working well with the samples I have been sending (still some left if anyone wants to try). I hope to have this information to everyone later tonight or tomorrow morning.

I've received my sample HitList - Thanks, CTF!

A very nice little book, indeed; good construction; great paper for FPs and "gentle" watercolor.

And the "Dock" feature is simple, elegant, and extremely useful - great idea! - One of those: "Ah-ha!" ideas that slips by many of us (i.e., myself).

Please keep us / FPN informed of the progress on the Website; and Best of Luck to you with this Venture.

Regards,

David.

Yesterday's mail included a small packet from an unfamiliar address - and behold, the Hitlist. Nicely packaged, fits perfectly in the side pocket of handbag, and if you carry your notebook in a pocket instead, it's obviously just the right size for that. Pages large enough to write good notes, nice paper as noted by others. Cover heavy enough to keep it intact but not too thick to make it bulky. And my favorite feature - that white strip along the edge where you write subject and date so you can file your used notebooks somewhere and just look at the covers, rather than open each notebook and scan through it, to find old notes. Very nice! CTF, I should think you will have no trouble selling out the first production run right here on FPN.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
