The only reason now I only use my Sonny cybershot 12 megas is that since then I skyped dark room, scanner and printers. Thats all, but I dont command very well this new technology and I feel confortable with olds cameras, but maybe is only question of practice and time.

Well also not so great at extreme long lenses, but really good in the middle. :)

Yours is my camera's bigger brother.

leicaphotos,

Many thanks for making me aware of rangefinderforum.com :)

I use a 5 x 4 MPP MicroPress, a 2.25 x 3.25 SpeedGraphic and a Yashica Electro 35mm rangefinder from the 1960s'.

Have fun !

Best regards

Russ

Too lazy to pull out Puts compendium but M lenses only go up to 135, no?

Thought about trading the 8 in for a 9? Your 35 Cron is like a whole new world on FF. ;)

Some old light meters. Still working.fpn_1317344798__dsc00467.jpg

I've a Weston Master II nearly identical to yours....except mine has the Weston brown leather case. It worked reliably (and accurately) until one morning in November of 2003 when it finally turned up compleatly dead. A pity as it was probably the best of all my handheld meters new or vintage.

Also have a nice Leica IIIa to go with it when I'm feeling particularly retro.

Not in a financial position for a 9 at the moment, but I sold the 35 cron. I'd get a newer one when I got the 9.

I'll never be able to justify a 9. I had major problems with the 8. I never thought that Leica would send me back to Japanese SLRs, but they did.

Nice picture Dolganoff. I have some too in the same mood, let me tell you the carpentry of this, as you must guess it was in the sunny evening , to the west the sun was falling and I hiden it behind the lamp, this is the result, an nocturnal moonshine over the water and the damp curtain.fpn_1317770615__scan10053_copy.jpg

You are right Simon templar, the weston is a very accurate lighmeter but with the years the numbers appear more small even with glasses, so I prefer the Gossen color finder, very simple, you just set the asa in the knob then turn the knob so the arrows cross and coincide and thats all for aperture and speed. Btw The Gossen is the white in the left.fpn_1317773501__dsc00473_copy.jpg

I've sold my II and my CM so I'm currently sans Red Dotted Cameras but I'm having a load of fun with my new-to-me Nikon FE:

I'm also assembling a 4x5 kit to finally, after many a false start, enter the world of the magical sheets-o-film.

Sorry to resurrect this ol' thread, but if any FPNers are into the "Leica thing" I started a website nearly a year ago that's been really ramping up and thought I'd share it with the group... Stop by, check it out, say hello. :)

We've got a bunch of unique articles, lens and other reviews, a forum for all things Leica (and then some) plus links to other great sites.

I was a lurker on RFF some time back. I was an avid collector of pre WWII Contax rangefinders. Unfortunately, I managed to drift away, and kept only one, a nice Contax I ( I think an f? ) in black. I recently picked up a nice Minolta (canon rf copy) model e ? (circa 1952) and I have several early Nikon f's, bunch of black body spotmatics, etc... I loved to shoot film, but honestly, someone needs to develop a digital insert to convert these old cameras.

Ahh, a Fed. They have their own following... Fun cameras. :)

Nice, Rick. Years ago, someone was actually "developing" a drop-in digital sensor in the shape of a 35mm can. Sadly, it never made it into production and was essentially vaporware. I agree, that would be pretty cool. Maybe as technology continues to advance we'll see such a product some day. That's the hope, anyway... No biggie if not - I like film.

I came here because I think rangefinders are the epitome of cameras and require true skill to produce good pictures, which they do consistently. The Teslas attracted me because I work for Lotus in good old England. They don't make them anymore! Such a shame as they are quite some car.

Hi Leica/RF fans!

I'm a lurker in RFF and I post sometimes. My RFF name is "Celia", that's Leica re-arranged! I also go undercover at LUF as "Alice MacRae." Again, a play on LEICA CAMERA. I have not taken the dive into the digital side. I still use my M6 Classic with: 35/2.0v4 "bokeh king" Cron, 50/2.0 Cron and 90/2.8 T-E.

Kinda hard to do macro photography of pens with a Leica RF, isn't it?

Cheers,

Ben R

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
