are any of you hanging out at rangefinderforum.com? I'm a leica shooter and ended up here as my father collects pens -- I'm thinking of doing a coffee table book now

for those at rff, you probably know me

Sure thing. I'm "Double Negative" over on RFF.

Michael, I certainly know you -- always enjoy your posts - any clues who I am?

Does a Leica III f count in this discussion? I'm old school, that's why I use Fountain Pens and my daily driver is a 1971 VW Bug. Jim

I'm only new at rangefinder.com - jimbot.

I use an M3 and M2 as well as an SL2 MOT (SLR of course)

RFF is a really useful resource for me and was invaluable when I was starting out with rangefinders, but I never posted there. I shoot with an M6, which I bought last year. I love it and have all but abandoned my film SLRs (they are sad and dusty).

I've never heard of RFF until stumbling across this thread... :headsmack: this is going to turn into what happened when I stumbled across FPN.... I've got 5 FPs (4 Pilot Steels - MYU701, Matte Black, Volex, Elite) & a Sailor Mini in under a month...

Although the price of "real" rangefinders (Leica...) should be enough to stop me from going nuts...

Lurking mode only, at the moment.

No Leicas, but here are my RF cameras:

Sure thing!

Due to a typo the guys at RFF know me as Jmiothy.

I'm also on the Leica Forum.

Hmm, Don't know POTN or LUF and I only occasionally lurk on DPR. I'm also on photo.net of course, but rarely read it (seem not to be alone in that regard).

In order of visitation (all with username deirdre, there's an advantage to having a relatively unusual female name in a male-dominated hobby):

seriouscompacts.com (I'm a moderator)

rangefinderforum.com

mu-43.com

l-camera-forum.com

photo.net

fredmiranda.com (for classified surfing)

getdpi.com (for classified surfing)

Bought a used Shootsac with a red-and-black cover off one of the latter two recently. Very nice for rangefinder gear plus has that girlie "change the color with your mood" thing going for it.

Yep! Leica MP and M6 user here. I've been on the Leica Forum (l-camera fourm) and RFF for several years, although I don't post at RFF as frequently. I am MPJMP on each.

In fact, it was a post about fountain pens in the Barnack's Bar area of the Leica Forum that sparked my interest in this hobby back in 2004.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
