Nakaya Pen Pillow Same Feel As Urushi On Pens?

I recently purchased the Nakaya Black Hairline Neo Standard and could not be happier with the pen. I want to do a review on it but want to spend more time with the pen before writing a review. One Nakaya may not be enough now. My other pens have been in the drawer now unused since my pen arrived.

 

 

I purchased a Nakaya pen pillow to go with my pen. Since, my pen is a different finish than the Tamanuri on the pens, I want to know if the pen pillow finish has the same feel as the Urushi Tamenuri pens.

 

My Black Hairline has a unique feel to the grip and pen, which is a very different feel than the pen pillow.

 

If someone has the Nakaya Pen Pillow and a Nakaya with the Tamenuri finish, could you tell me if the feel on the pen pillow is the same as the pen?

In my case, the pen is a bit smoother than the pillow.

I would think the pillow not to be as smooth as the pen finish so it can offer a better grip, no?

The pillow is urushi on wood so the texture of the wood may feel through the urushi. The pens are urushi on turned ebonite so there is no texture on the pen to show through the urushi.
