Wyvern 60 Clutch Selfil Mottled Hard Rubber

This is an attractive Wyvern pen in mottled hard rubber with gold coloured trim, probably dating from the late 1920's, it is in pretty decent condition with negligible fading. The imprint reads Wyvern 60 Clutch Selfil Safety with a patent number and WP Co London on the second line. The pen is in working order and has had a replacement sac in the last 6 months. It has been in use whilst in my hands, the original Warranted 14ct #4 semi flex medium nib writes nicely despite having well worn tipping which could be easily restored by the likes of Greg Minuskin. The cap has suffered damage in the past and bears evidence of a stabilised crack which appears to have been well repaired. This blemish is the only obvious sign of damage to the pen . Size wise it approximates to the contemporary Waterman 52 and is easily its match in quality. If you collect English pens and Wyverns in particular, this might be your only chance for some considerable time to fill a gap in your line up.

Wyvern is a well known maker of high quality pens, but possibly not as widespread as Conway Stewart. Thank you for saying that the price is sensible - I never know what to ask!
