Pen In The King's Speech

Yesterday, I saw the new movie, "The King's Speech", which is about the stuttering king of england that overcame his fear. In the part where his brother resigns, a chrome Fountain Pen is used. In an earlier part, he uses a pen that looks like a estebrook J. Does anyone know what pens these are?

Just saw that. Marvelous film!

The pen used in the abdication scene appeared to be sterling, with a long, hexagonal body. If I remember correctly, the pen had a black section and a somewhat tarnished nib (in keeping with a vintage pen) that seemed a bit small for the large barrel. I don't recall seeing a cap.

My first thought was perhaps Yard'o'Lead.

I would think that the pen used in the film would be the identical type used by King George VI to sign the documents. I suspect somewhere in the historical records the type of pen used for the signing of the abdication documents is recorded.

Are there any of our British members that could help?

The film's folks responsible for set design and scene aspects of the film may know exactly which pen they researched and used in the film.
