Diamine Hope Pink

Great review and great pink!

How does this compare with the fabled Levenger's Pinkly? I see this mentioned so often, and of course it was never available in the UK.

For those guys having qualms about using pink, when I was growing up any ink other than black or blue (and that didn't include turquoise, BTW) was the province of the effeminate or the insane, so we may have made some progress.

Nice review, and thank you for the shoutout! This is one of those inks that's very nice but tends to get overlooked. Diamine especially seems to have a lot of pinks...they have Hope Pink and then they just have regular 'Pink', which Rachel and I have jokingly dubbed as 'Hopeless' Pink ;) haha

You are more than welcome! "Hopeless Pink", that's pretty good!

I wish I knew! I got into the FP game too late to have ever met the fabled Pinkly!

I have some Pinkly, Diamene Cerise, and ordered a sample of the Hope Pink. When I get the sample I will post a little writing sample of them together. The Cerise is the color I purchased to replace Pinkly, and its very close. Pinkly is neon pink.

That will be very nice to see! I still wish I could get my hands on some Noodler's Rachmaninov without having to spend $18 for one bottle.

I received my ink samples today, and inked up Hope Pink. I thought I had Diamene Cerise, but I have Diamene Scarlet. It was a toss up between Scarlet and Cerise when I was looking for a replacement for Levenger Pinkly, and I went with Scarlet. I went ahead and did a scan of the three. They all look the same to me, so with either one you would have a very vibrant pink. I took the photos with my phone, so please ignore any fuzziness. The last image is a scan.

Paper is a Rhodia No 16 dot pad.

Edit: On my monitor the 2 first picture appears the closest to actual color, but they are brighter in person. The scanned image appears a bit to purple, but not much. The Hope pink is a sample, Scarlet is a bottle, and Pinkly is from cartridges.

Looks good!!! Pretty darn similar, IMHO. You gotta give it to Diamine for making such close colors!

Yes they are very very close! The pinkly and scarlet may be just a teeny bit more red than hope pink, but all beautiful pinks!

Greetings all,

I must confess that I will not be buying this ink after all; the businessman in me nixed it because I have no conceivable use for 3 oz. of pink ink. However, the humanitarian in me has decided to donate $10 to the American Cancer Society. :happyberet: I mention this because I thought there may be other men out there who would like to help but have no idea what to do with 3 ounces of pink ink either.

All the best,

Sean :)
