Montblanc Irish Green!

So i loaded up my 52 with Irish green tonight since i finished up the black today taking notes... I must say I like this green a lot.

 

It feathers ever so slightly on cheap paper (not noticeable unless laying wet lines) and only bleeds when ink pools up for whatever reason.

 

Its pricey at 16 dollars but the bottle is lovely!

 

Lubrication is okay, i would say its right at "normal"

 

decent flow, not too wet.. can skip when making quick passes with the 52, which is good for flexies beginners so you dont worry about laying down way too much ink and get like no variation.. a little issue of mine with the aurora black, but aurora is such a great ink!

 

The green is what I expect green to be, and the shading is stunning!

 

Dries fast. REAL fast.

 

The best part is i can leave the pen open well over a few minutes (whats a few anyway, i left it open and walked away for a few minutes..) and i can write with it immediately...

 

Please excuse my turd like handwriting and just use it as a color sample, it looks close to my paper when held to my monitor!

 

 

and here is a little shading sample of a integral sign... lol it looks nicer in person. but the color is better represented here than the writing sample.

 

 

 

i would buy this ink again if i need a green, but may try herbin vert empire if i ever go through half this bottle of ink...

No, Montblanc discontinued British Racing Green. This Irish Green is the new replacement color and it is currently available.

This is a pretty cool ink. Maybe I'll give it a try. I have a feeling that mathematica would have a hard time with that integral on the bottom of your review! :ltcapd:

I recently started using this ink on hp laserjet 24 lb paper, uhm.. this ink dont dry? lol

 

I only use my lamy blue black on those paper if i want it to dry on time... and never ever smear...

 

Maybe I should try the 22, or 24 lb INK jet paper from hp... the ultra smoothness of the laserjet seem to prevent it from having good absorption of this ink.

This Irish Green is the new replacement color and it is currently available.

Actually, Irish Green is by no means a replacement of racing green, it is "merely" the successor.

I mean that in both senses. It is a completely different green, originally conceived by MB as a fern green or an emerald green, in no case an attempt to offer a follow-up of the original racing green's mossy brown texture.

That's just why I love it (the Irish) and loathe the racer.

I quite like Irish Green - CdA Amazon is a similar color that I like a little better, but it's also twice as expensive, so...

+1 for this color. I like that it is a deep, rich green that isn't too bright or too lime green in color. I use it in my Monteverde Invincia Tartania medium point with great success. Very smooth and dries quite quickly, which is a plus here in humid, sticky Florida.

I picked up a bottle of this last night, and I gotta say, even as a newbie to the FP scene, this ink is awesome! It's a really nice shade, and like others have mentioned, it lays down really nice on the paper!

This would've been a nice ink for St. Patrick's Day. It looks really similar to Noodler's Green Marine to me though, or is it just me?
