That is the million dollar question......... and I hate to tell you this - but if there is one he/she is hiding their skills really well!

There are many Aussies who send pens to USA or UK for nib work.

If someone was to train and set up shop in Oz - they would make a lot of people very happy! :notworthy1:

thanks Chris

I spoke to someone at the pen shop in sydney today and they told me the son of the founder of the shop - charles wolf - is a nib grinder and has been doing it for over 50 years. Seems like no one on the list has used this guy? Now I am in a dilemma and feel I should probably ship the pen to the US....oh dear....

My first eBay Parker 51 was an Extra Fine that was a bit scratchy. The Pen Shop got it nice and smooth and it wasn't that expensive. A lot cheaper than just the postage to and from the US.

We will have to find out if he just smooths nibs or can he do regrinds into italic, oblique etc. It would be good if he could!

I'll phone tomorrow, unless someone else wants to - I don't actually have a pen in need of a nose job right now.

Me too.

Nib tuning seems to be readily available, obviously grinding is a more difficult skill.
