Montegrappa Modigliani

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

I have recently come across 'Montegrappa Modigliani'. I have read favorable and equally opposite results for this FP.

However, personally, I would like to have one in my stable of FPs.

Request you all to suggest what is a good price to buy this FP.

Also, some good places where you can buy it online and at a good price.

Regards,

Jignesh

Depending on where you are on the planet, Susanna or Bryant are good sellers with reasonable prices. I'm sure others will chime in with more.

I got mine essentially new from a member on the forum; however I remember Fahrney's had a special where if you bought the fountain pen you would get the matching ballpoint as a free gift.

I just sold mine (new) on FPN for about that.

A beautiful pen but no piston filler

The lack of a piston filler does not bother me. Maybe I'm wrong, but I primarily buy pens based on aesthetic beauty opposed to whats inside. The only exception is Pelikan.

For you info.....The materials that make up this pen are top of the line. If it had an integrated piston it would send the price through the roof. It's a compromise. If you make it out of resin you can do it cheap enough......but you won't have colours like these. It'll probably be boring black. Also, fixing a piston filler costs a bomb. These are easier to cleana nd maintain. Thanks

As far as I know, the Modigliani is made of resin. Montblanc resin at that. Actually, the whole pen is made by Montblanc in Hamburg. Only the design was conceived in Italy. The rest is all Montblanc.
