Rolex Fountain Pens

Recommended Posts

I will be getting a Rolex fountain pen that is being handed over to me from a family member and it is about 25 to 30 years old. I haven't been able to find any information on Rolex fountain pens and was hoping someone would have some information on the pens.

Thanks

Wow. Rolex FP? Sorry, no idea as I am rather ignorant on the matter of pens. But, my curiosity is piqued. I hope someone has knowledge of this.

I, and I'm sure many others, would love to see some photographs of said Rolex.

Good luck.

Due to curiosity, I did some Google searches on Roles pens. The first link I found, with a mention about a pen from Rolex, was to FPN!

I didn't see any fountain pen offerings from Rolex. The first few items I found are called Rolex, but whether they are actually affiliated with the watch maker, I don't know; the pens were all referenced as being made in Israel. All were indicated as sterling silver, had something to do with the 12 Tribes and were all ballpoint.

Finally, I did come across some blog of a guy that collects Rolex branded stuff (that of the known watchmaker), and he clearly had a couple pens with the Rolex crown logo on them, but neither were sterling, though they were ballpoints.

Google is a powerful tool.

By the way, none of the pens I found were particularly valuable. The era of two were specifically identified; one as from the '50s, the other as from the '60s. The higher priced one was $85; the lower, $75.

Maybe yours is different...

It most likely have been an advertising pen for loyal dealers, I.e. Ephemera.

Maybe they have a screw down cap to protect the refill from the element.

... and with the cap firmly on they are waterproof to 300 meters.

I finally came across an Internet auction today for a Vintage ROLEX 18k Gold Fountain Pen-Original Box with "ROLEX PEN LAMINATO ORO 750" written on the pen...that the seller thinks is from a Spanish speaking country...which is actually Italian.

The Rolex pen that is being given to me was acquired in the Republic of San Marino as a gift from the Rolex dealer around 7 years ago, and was, as Joe of Seattle suggested an advertising pen, deep green with gold trim and a Rolex marking and crown. I am looking forward to getting the pen to see how it writes and feels.

Should it get the water proof test? :puddle:
