Very cool idea! I'm on a student budget too, but maybe I'll go without lunch a couple days a month...

 

Mmhmm. I usually would pack my own lunches to school. Reusable water bottle and all that. But with California's budget cuts, that might not be quite enough. Even when I didn't buy textbooks, but rather, used the library's reserves it was hard. O_O

Yes Brian, that is what I meant. I just wasn't sure if there'd be a limitation on how many members could participate. Good to know that there isn't. I didn't want to jump into it and realize that my student budget couldn't handle it.

This is a cool idea! It's great that you have a special membership section. I think that you should allow non-members to view this section, while making it clear that only members can take advantage of the deals. I'm on the fence about joining because I have a pretty firm list of the inks I want to eventually purchase. Since that list isn't very short becoming a member might be a good idea, but I can't get a sense of specific perks for members work w/o checking out the page. Seeing the perks might help more people to decide on membership. Thanks!

Haha...oh you're bad....what a tease that would be! Actually, this idea is outside of the technical specifications of what I can do on my website. I can't specify who is allowed to buy a certain product, except with the way I'm doing it now (having an entire 'member's only' section). Guess you'll have to buddy up with a fellow FPN member who is an Ink Drop member and get them to spill the beans :ph34r: That's a big part of why I did everything I could to keep the membership cost down, so it would be accessible to just about everyone who wants to be a part of it.

Hey, I just wanted to clarify one thing real quick. I want to apologize if this post in Inky Thoughts seems a little 'sales-y' on my end. I did the entire Ink Drop club as a direct response to FPN members asking for this club in another Inky Thoughts thread, so I thought this would be the most appropriate place to post it. I was acting super-duper fast when putting this club together (concept to execution in less than 3 days, coming off the DC pen show, mind you!), so I apologize if I posted this thread in the inappropriate place. The last thing I want to do is start rubbing people the wrong way, so I'm going to try to tone back my posting a little bit from all the self-promotion. My apologies to anyone I may have offended

Yes, my samples arrived today. Am trying out one that I really wanted to try out and it was a sample this month! When everyone gets their samples and we can talk about them without being a spoiler, I wanted to comment on the choices in general. For now I can say that I'd like to see at least one sample each month from the "blacks" line of ink. There are so many Blacks out there and it's such a staple for ink colors, I feel at least one black a month would be nice to play with in the samples. (IMHO)

I received my samples today. My Halloween inspired guesses were all wrong. Still, the extra sample is a great prize for being wrong! I like the little indent at the bottom of the bottles. If you can fit the nib all the way down, it helps you get the most out of the bottle. I also love the Edelstein sample card and the bookmarks. I want to keep them all (I do a lot of reading) but in all fairness, I give most of them away to friends and with books, to spread the word.
