Which Pens Had The Bad Nibs?

I've noticed the nibs on my vintage Sheaffers are consistently excellent. You can imagine how disappointed I was when I got an Intrigue with a M nib that gushed like a fire hose and tended to skip. I figured it was a freak accident, so I got another Intrigue with a B nib. . . and it was the same way. I'm talking roughly 10/10 on wetness (if not 11/10!), and I suspect the dreaded "baby bottom" shape on the iridium tip.

So. . . The Intrigue nibs were so awful, I wondered just how widespread this problem is? Was it limited only to the Intrigue? Or are most modern Sheaffers like this? When did it start, and when did it end? Or has it?

My Intrigues are fine too. But they are a long way from new. Mine are from the old Fort Madison days. Current production is from Europe.
