Twsbi

My wife loves my f nib prototype. When I told her they're on eBay now, she said she wanted her own twizzbee.

Seems to me she's hit on a good name for it. What do you say?

"how do I know what I think until I write it down?"

I like that...I have been wondering the correct pronunciation and I kept hearing "tsu-bi" in my head, but I like twizzbee better.

What IS the correct way?

Another post on FPN mentioned that TWSBI stands for Speedy's initial (note that in Chinese it is last name first) and the Chinese word for pen (bi, pronounced roughly like bui). But twizzbee sounds pretty good.

I asked Speed y to post a audio with the correct pronunciation. I believe it is "Twist Bee" except without pronouncing the second "t".

I say Twizz-bee. In most languages, the "i" would be pronounced as a long "e." For instance, the town of Hilo, Hawaii is not pronounced High-low, but He-low. So, twizz-bee.

Currently, I call mine "Still in transit". When reading post about the line, I vary between the Manufacturer's Suggested Pronunciation and something my very shallow knowledge of Welsh orthography suggests: Toos-be.

Not the correct pronunciation from previous discussions on here......

I put it in my head as 'Twizzbee' the first time I read it and it's stuck. The other day in a writing group I had several compliments on the 'coolness' of it. They asked what kind of pen it was and I pointed them to FPN and told them to look for 'Twizzbee' posts and pointed out the "TWSBI" on the cap ring so they'd know how to spell/find it.

I don't have one, yet, but I've also been calling it a twizzbee.

I know it may not be correct, but "twizby" is stuck in my mind now.

By the way, it looks like the TWSBI eBay store is up and running this morning, with pens to sell.

You can also grab pens at my store taiwanlovesyou.com here if you dont want to deal with eBay. I am fresh out of EF pens, but am buying another box to keep up with demand this week! Also, i'll be getting more products other than pens in soon.

There are so many posts about Twsbi, I should pretend like i'm paying you guys to shamelessly plug the pens!

BTW, it's twis-bee

I've been saying it twiz-bee (like frisbee) but I guess it more 's' than 'z' ...

Good news that they are available! I've been drooling over all the happy new owners photos and descriptions.

I just ordered an F from your website Mahkie :) :) :)

I'll say aloud (I mean, I've said aloud, the one time I spoke of the pen aloud, telling my girlfriend what the fuss was about) twis-bee, but in my head it's always tsu-bi.

This is a similar thing with Lamy, anytime I'm in a pen shop I'll say lah-mee, or la-mee, and will feel ridiculous while saying lame-ee in my head.

I say "lamb-ee" in my head and assume it's "lah-may" in reality, but who knows?

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
