I really like the color in the review, but wonder if it is a mislabeled bottle?

Like others have mentioned, I think you have a mis-labeled bottle. I just recieved three Herbin inks for Christimas, and have just tried the Terre De Fue. It looks nothing like your sample. Mine is a much redder brown, which is kinda pale on the HP paper I've used. I am also a left hander and think my manner of pushing the pen across the paper may tend to lay down less ink than a pull stroke.

very nice indeed. i didn't get this particular color because i thought that it would have a reddish shade, just as the suggested on herbin's chart. hhmm... i might just have to buy this one now.
