This reminds me of a photograph that was taken by one of Australia's premier 20th century photographers on a rainy morning at Circular Quay about 100 years ago.  I will have to see if I can find it.

I feel an explanation is needed here for... westerners: The guy you see in Andrew_L's fine sketch is not Santa Claus; he's St. Basil who brings us presents on new year's eve, instead of Christmas 😉
